Edit following the owner’s uncontrolled outrage against Rhonda McKenzie:My goodness! Just take a look at how the ‘owner’ responded to Rhonda McKenzie’s poor experience. If you can’t take ownership of your mistakes then you shouldn’t take ownership of a business. No wonder why this place closed down.Good riddance given how awful and mean they are to customers. Is this supposed to be Dick’s Last Resort?Initial Review:The ribs are phenomenal! That’s probably the best item on the menu. They’re growing and working out little kinks, but the great thing is that they’re building around amazing food. There are little things they can improve on like having plates for appetizers, having wall decor, and making enough food to meat (pun) demand.I hear they’re getting a bar license which should make this place even better. I can only see this place going up and am excited to see it become a staple in Rockwall.

This place is relatively under the radar, but not for long. Stopped in for some lunch. Loved the steak, ribs, sausage. Also the Mac and cheese was to die for!!! The service was prompt and friendly and the atmosphere was lively and inviting. It was clean, anyone else find this important? Can’t wait to go back.

The best BBQ I have had in years. It is such a great locally owned, friendly place. The owner was super nice! Our food was delicious. Definitely on our go-to list when in town.

We came in for a birthday lunch/dinner at 2pm. The reserving guest was forced to put down a $250 deposit for a private area when he made the reservation months ahead. The “area” was not available when we got there. We had approximately 13 people in attendance. We were informed that the service would be interrupted because they didn’t have any servers to cover us. A very strange, rude and obnoxious woman waited on the entire table. There were a few other diners when we got there. During our wait, the place cleared out and they put a sign on the door saying they would reopen at 5pm. With an empty restaurant it took us 45 minutes before we were asked what to drink and eat. (Another 20 minutes to get drinks.) The lady stated that they were out of quite a few things on the menu. She also stated that if we were ordering fried foods that we would be making the entire table wait to receive their order because fried foods take longer to cook. The food finally came after our waiting about 1 hour and 45 minutes or so. The meat was good (but very sparse) and the sides were cold. When we were done eating the mate of the birthday guy asked for the cake to be brought out to the table. The “waitress” told us that we had to keep our used dinner forks or we’d have nothing to eat with. She refused to split up the bill on the initial request and told everyone that we’d get one bill and need to figure it out ourselves. They did give the deposit back to be put toward the bill. A gratuity was also on the bill. If I could have paid myself for my own cost, that lady would have been my first ever no-tip. She was awful and made the occasion a very bad situation. She’s lucky that we respected the birthday boy and just dealt with it. We won’t be back!!!

Unfortunately we had a terrible experience at dinner tonight. They were short staffed so the service was terrible. The meat, regardless of what you order, is fantastic. The sides were not good. My mashed potatoes were cold and served with a side of "something" (gravy? cheese?), and my salad was nothing to write home about. My husband's fries were cold & soggy. After we ordered, the server had to come back twice to say "we don't have any steaks" (WHAT?) , we don't have any Mac & Cheese, we don't have a beer list". Oh, and there was no butter for the dinner rolls. She also said, "our beer stock is really low". So if you're looking for a steak dinner and a cold beer on a Friday night, this isn't the place to go.For the price we paid, it was a terrible experience and what's worse was there was no apology. Never again.

We don't complain much.My wife and I have tried CB&G three times. Food is always amazing. The three times we have been (weekends and weekday) it's pretty much empty. And service is always sub standard. So last time we went, we kinda figured it out.We had the same server all three times (lady with glasses). Always yelling at the kitchen about "where is my customers food". Only 3 tables. She has no help. Doesn't seem overwhelming from a serving and volume perspective and It's not her fault. On the last visit, she served us wine. One glass was fresh, the other sour. We asked for a fresh glass to replace sour glass. She obliges and admitted one glass was poured from an open bottle at noon that day. But afterwards she questioned us on why we sent back sour glass of wine. We explained there is a clear difference in taste. She rolled her eyes. It's like she was making it our fault the glass of wine was sour. Very odd customer service. We didn't go there for wine. We went for BBQ. But she clearly took offense.Every experience, this server has a loud potty mouth that can be heard from the kitchen. Repulsive. Maybe this location needs to relegate to a food truck. Service is awful.

I’m a bit baffled by the good reviews. I can only assume they’re just trying to support a local business but they’d be better served with honest reviews. It’s expensive and the food was just bad. Dry brisket, bland sides (I’m pretty sure the potato salad was from Costco), and mediocre service. I was sad because I was excited to try this place and it’s a great location with good atmosphere. I’d they can step up their food and service, could be a great place.

Dr. Andy is a master of meat and breakfast taco. What we thought would be a quick pop in to grab something to go turned into a joyful conversation and a delightful morning. Community BBQ is well named and a welcome addition to Rockwall's historic town square. Can't wait to return for dinner. JFND!

Andy catered a smallish holiday dinner for us and our guests were suitably impressed with their dinner. It's hard to single out anything, but the ribs and pulled pork are remarkable! I look forward to dining onsite soon.

Good meats.. but super slow service and only 2 employees for the whole place doing everything from taking orders- and making food and running around, with a lot of people waiting around to be seated/give their order. Some people just walked out after waiting too long. Only 1 barstool at the bar which is kinda awkward. Hope they can get more

Best bbq in Rockwall! We had a great visit with Andy the owner of this fine establishment. He quickly took our order and made us feel at home.Seriously this bbq is hands down great! We ordered brisket, potato salad, cole slaw and bread. Everything was to perfection. It's all homemade. The banana pudding and white chocolate bread pudding was delicious! We ate every bite. This restaurant will be on our weekly list to have lunch or dinner.Rockwall is blessed to have this business.

We were there on a Thursday afternoon so the restaurant wasn't crowded but steadily busy. Our waiter Andy was exceptionally friendly and attentive but not annoyingly so. The menu was exactly what I would expect from a barbecue restaurant, we had the 55 Classic, it was just enough for us and very tasty. The sides, we had green beans and the Barbecue beans, were very good and generous portions. For me though this is a bit of a drive from I-30 (we were passing through)but well worth the drive, it's only a couple of miles. Everything was really good. I would recommend it and Will go again when we are in the area.

Had heard of the restaurant on the square. Wanted to try lunch on a Sunday after church. Seated immediately. The Brisket was perfect and the ribs were AWESOME.Between my wife and I, we got to try 4 different sides. They were everything I hoped they would be, Delicious!Owner and staff are as friendly as you will find.Give them a try, I don't think you will be disappointed.
