Waitress very nice and attentive- did the best she could. Food used to be a lot better- rolls were half as large as usual and not as soft. Chicken crispy outside/ tough inside. Cashier did not care- said I could take my business elsewhere.

Food & drinks: The food was very good but it took longer to get to us maybe in the kitchen was slow cooking but it was not bad because we were very hungry ? thank you for having us there to eat

Little discouraged right now this past Saturday I was invited out to breakfast with my aunt Joan Watkins to a place others in my family have eaten at for years. I placed my walker by the steel beam next to me and we're both in the middle of our meals. A waitress mind you not our own came up and her words "Next time put the walker at the front, we're all having to go around to get to the other customers." My aunt moved it and then that same waitress came back though to get to those customer's in the booth section. She went behind my aunt on the right side of the beam pushing the chair at the empty table to make room for herself to get though. At that point we both lost our appetite's asked our waitress for our check informed her of why we're though took our breakfast to paid the check and left

Whelp, a local recommended I check this spot and I'm questioning him, in my head. So, lets get into it...Quaint exterior and hometown, no frills, interior and dated. Often, I feel this sets the mood for some good southern (or Texas) cuisine. Not so much the case here. I ordered the pork chop dinner (cooked light by request; other helpers posted dry-looking chops). They were perfectly juicy, with great flavor. As for the sides, there is an extremely and unimpressive options. Think: take it or leave it from dinner with the parents. Having lived in Germany, a few years, I love German fried potatoes. They're a huge miss, here! More scorched & chunky mashed potatoes w/ large chopped onions. The green beans are the cheap rubber style and lacking flavor. The dinner roles also unimpressive. And what restaurant in the South does not have sweet tea??? This one does not!My waitress was sweet and helpful. Even taking time to explain the menu options, once I shared I'd never been. Her and the chops bring it to a 3 star. Everything else keeps it's down.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ for great food, service and nostalgia. The ham steak lunch is sooo good, with a pineapple ring on top, dinner rolls are heaven, sides were classic, and desserts are lovely. Got a side of ambrosia salad, hadn’t had that since church luncheons in the 80’s, what a fun taste of childhood! Honestly, everything I’ve ever had there has been delicious and really taken me back in time. I always leave incredibly full and happy. And the people are always incredibly nice. Going there is like a hug.I hope they never, ever change!Food & drinks: Classic food offerings, all wonderful. The iced tea is so good. You know how some older place’s (even a few new ones) serve funky tasting tea? Having worked in food service, that is a sign they don’t clean their tea machine well or often enough. Here it is so crisp and delicious. And, of course, you can pick sweet tea or unsweetened! Gotta love the south for thatNoteworthy details: Check out the full meals on the back of the menu. You won’t be disappointed! (unless you’re some kind of Karen, in that case, leave this place alone! They are good people and deserve respect and kindness)

It's kind of off the beaten path. It is worth it, though. The atmosphere is like going back in time to the old diner. Food was very good and service was almost like you were an old friend. Breakfast was good and on Sundays they have turkey and dressing which is very good. Their pie is fabulous ?
