We ordered catering for 50 people through Mesquite Bean on 2/2. We had the brisket and Parmesan crusted chicken with fried okra, house salad, hush puppies and dinner rolls. The food itself was amazing, seriously the best barbecue we've had in San Angelo. However, our experience with mesquite bean has been overall awful. Communication between us and them has been overall non-existent despite our efforts. it took us multiple attempts to contact and pay for our ordering as the gentlemen to do so was never available. Additionally, payment included a a 3% up charge for card use, which was not communicated to us, otherwise we would have used a check. We never received a contract for our order. On the day of our event, the caterers arrived roughly half an hour later than planned, stayed for maybe 2 hours at the most, then left with much of the leftover order, which many guests complained of not getting seconds. Our big complaint was the lack of consistent communication, which left us feeling like the product we were getting was an afterthought. 2/5 stars because the food was great, but the overall experience was not, and I honestly wished I had gone elsewhere.

Need more waitresses. Only 2 during lunch is really not enough.

I was excited to eat here, as it seemed right up my ally. It's got some old school diner vibes. Unfortunately, that's about the most positive thing I can say about my experience. After getting our drinks, we waited. I ordered the lunch special (pork chops), my wife ordered the Rowena. 20 minutes later one of the waitresses told my wife that they didn't have the Rowena. Then just awkwardly stood there and stared at her. My wife then asked if she could have a menu to make another choice. She does. Fast forward 40 minutes later, and we're still without food, and that's when we decide to hit the road (crazy for me because I was REALLY hungry). We get the explanation that Donny (lol I have no idea who that is) hadn't got back with the pork chops, and that if we ordered anything else it would've been quicker. This was 11:30, and the lunch special was written on the sign when you walk in AND the menu as the daily lunch special. Thanks for a waste of one hour of my life. First and last time here!

Small, limited menu but good-tasting food. Not many traditional breakfast plates, but you can order a plate of eggs, bacon, toast, etc. a la carte. Sadly, no decaf coffee. Would like to come back and try their dinner menu, which is much larger and looks delicious.
