This Restaurant is right along the RiverWalk, but is a bit out of the messy crowd of the RiverWalk HorseShoe, but it is worth the 5 mins walk to it.Food was awesome, and the view was very nice.We ate in many Restaurants along the RiverWalk, and this was the one we enjoyed the most!

Place is nice, staff is nice and attentive. Food was TRASH. Got three enchiladas and guacamole. Enchiladas were DRY and my chips for the guacamole were stale. That’s 30$ I won’t get back

Nice terrace to enjoy meals outside with a view of the river. Away from the area with the other restaurants on the water's edge. Varied choice of Mexican dishes.The staff is friendly but depending on the person you may have some grimaces.Fair price. Nice portions on the plates. The flavors are varied but the quality of the dishes vary depending on what is ordered.For example, I don't recommend dry, hard churritinos... luckily there were dips.Same for one of the dishes. Without the extra sauce, it would have been less pleasant to eat.

Amazing Mexican cuisine on the Riverwalk. Enjoyed the short rib tacos, the snapper and the mole enchiladas. The two queso appetizers were also great.

Looks like a nice place.. we were told a 45 minute wait.. half the restaurant is empty tables, we waited 10 minutes and watched the staff on their phones or talking and joking around with each other,. Then we decided to go somewhere else! If I owned this place I’d hire better management! Someone who’s gonna seat customers and make money for my business! Good for luck! Maybe next time! Y’all just lost 250$ from us!

After a bad experience at the Iron Cactus, I went to Acenar. The host/waiter understood my past Iron Cactus experience and helped me in 3 minutes where the former took 45+32 minutes to get a glass of wine.The food was great and was a treat. The service was very good. So if you ever around the river walk and up for a good Mexican restaurant, leave Iron Cactus and go to Acenar.
It was amazing foodies and we had an amazing waiter, GARY! He made it a really cool time and he was funny too! 5-5-5Written by a childKid-friendliness: Waiters are super friendly and funnny.

We are in San Antonio for a conference and selected this restaurant and had the best time. The food and drinks were great, but our server was the BEST. He made the whole experience so enjoyable. He answered all our questions, made recommendations, and did so with humor and personality. I highly recommend. From the moment we entered the restaurant, we felt welcome. Don't pass this place up. It's well worth the visit.

Recently, I had a great overall experience at Acenar. Two things stood out for us: 1. Our server, Edward, on his first night (we were his first table!) Even if the food had been bad, he would have still earned a 5-star review. 2. We all visit new restaurants hoping for a new taste or experience and the Jicama Shrimp Tacos delivered! I'll be going by again tonight to have them one more time before flying out. They're that good!
