I went with my kids on a Sunday expecting it to be crowded and slow but we had the play area to ourselves and the food was excellent. Most outstanding, however, was the GM who was so nice and responsive. I would go back just for her!

We recently had dinner here and had a server named Reese who wanted to argue about the wings being right and not wrong when we have ordered the flavor several times. She also was not very attentive after this interaction and was very short with us. Not a very pleasant experience.

I lived in Buffalo as a child and was lucky enough to get stationed there in the Coast Guard years later. I patronized the original Anchor Bar a few times, because in Buffalo the secret was out, lots of places, almost all had great wings, and “Buffalo” pizza, not to mention a Buffalo standard Beef on Weck, but to get these favorites in San Antonio Texas , and to pull it off as well as they did. It was fantastic. Great food, service, and atmosphere!

We wanted to have a big birthday party for a family member in the San Antonio area and reached out to Anchor Bar to have it there. Luckily, we spoke with Lisa, the manager, who was absolutely fantastic to work with. She listened to what we wanted, made suggestions, showed us the area they would dedicate to our group, and basically planned everything out with us. The day of the party, we arrived from out of town, walked into the restaurant, and everything was exactly as Lisa said it would be. We were able to decorate as we planned and it looked great. Lisa assigned two servers - Abe and Reese - to our group. They, too, were outstanding. Friendly, welcoming, and completely committed to ensuring our group had a great time. The pizzas and wing platters were brought out quickly, and they were hot and fresh. The food at Anchor Bar is great and today was no exception. Best wings of any wing place in my opinion. Which is to be expected since they invented them 60 years ago. Overall, it was a great day and a great experience. The staff at Anchor Bar was a big reason why. I highly recommend Anchor Bar to anyone looking for a great meal with great service.

This is the greatest place ever.Kid-friendliness: This is a place where you can get pizza and wings. My favorite pizza is pepperoni pizza, and my favorite wings are buffalo wings.
I understand that take out has its draw backs, BUT these wings were terrible. Dry, hard, tasted like it was made yesterday. I picked up the order right on time and ate them with in a few minutes and still terrible. High hopes, huge let down.

This is my happy place. Great wings and beer. Frosty mugs. Great service. Tv's as far as the eye can see. Look up sports bar in the dictionary and you'll see a picture of Anchor Bar.

Abe was amazing. Very friendly and nice and always checking in on us to make sure we are having a great experience. I live way closer to the 3009 location, but travel to this because of how well Lisa runs this place. The food the customer service always great.
