Hoagies, daily specials, soups, canoli. A simple menu packed with delicious food.First of all, finding a place to park may be a bit of a challenge but going slightly out of your way will be well worth the effort. If you can't find a spot in front of the place, there are numerous places to park on nearby side streets. It's a compact space with a full view of the kitchen. You'll be greeted at the counter and directed to a board with the menu. There are hoagies of all varieties. We opted for the curry chicken salad. It was a HUGE sandwich stuffed with delicious creamy and slightly sweet chicken curry salad. Tomatoes and thin slices of onion top the filling. Grab your drink from the selections of sodas, teas, Tops in the cooler, grab some chips and wait for your order to be brought to you. Seating is picnic tables and two-tops outside the deli. Too full to even consider the delicious looking canoli. But will be back soon!Very, very friendly service.Parking: Very limited parking on Blanco near the deli. Might have to park on a side street.

Absolutely awesome spot! Philly was top notch, kids got an Italian and a ham/cheese, both loved it. Really cool area worth the visit.

I was pleasantly surprised to find an authentic Jewish deli counter in San Antonio. This was possibly the best sandwich I've ever had in my life, I had the cheesesteak with everything and my friend had the Reuben which I tried and was also incredible. To top it all off, the employees were super friendly. I may have to come back every weekend.

Here’s my hot take and I’ll address some people reviews/comment that you’ll likely read too.I had the steak with cheese sandwich (which is how it’s even listed on their menu) and it was damn delicious. Now I’ve never been to Philly so I’ve never had an authentic “Philly cheesesteak sandwich” but nowhere are they selling it as such. What rock do you live under if you don’t know that this is shave steak pieces? Yes, the pieces are small but it makes for a way better eating experience. It’s not ground beef.Yes, I agree the sandwich should be cut in half, but guess what? They give you a knife and I was able to cut the sandwich in half no problem. If you’re too lazy to take care of yourself, ask them to cut it when you order, I’m sure they’ll do so. But the knife they give you is totally capable of cutting your sandwich with ease.I’m happy they do the “V” cut, they load the sandwich with so much meat that the sandwich would fall apart and be a total disaster if it was cut all the way through. It’s also keeps the juices in… yes it makes it soggy, but any sandwich using real meat is going to do so.The sandwich was damn good and I forgot to take a picture, but I’ll be back and will update with photos soon.Such a great neighbourhood deli serving delicious food.

I was so looking forward to trying this deli. However I'm not sure I will give it another chance. When I first walked in there was an over powering smell of dirty mop water. You know that Fabuloso or Pinesol scent but dirty. That should've been a sign not to order but I really wanted to try this place. The establishment looked clean, just wasn't smelling of food like most deli's do, you know like baked bread. Heck even Subway smells like baked bread. Anyway, I decided on the Cheesesteak sandwich and boy was I mistaken. The steak had no seasoning or real flavor and the texture was like someone took a metal tenderizer and went crazy on that poor meat. Even the cheese and onions didn't help this poor sandwich. I had more pleasure eating the BBQ flavored Zapp's chips with the Mexican Coke! The staff were friendly enough, just do not order the Cheesesteak sandwich unless you carry your own seasonings with you! LOL! I may give this place another shot, I don't know...we'll see! I'm so disappointed!

Had the Cuban sandwich. Very very good sandwich. I didn't take a pic cause I ate it! Bigger than I thought it was going to be. Will definitely be back to try Italian Hoagie.

This place has been on my list for a while now and after today I wish I had gotten there sooner. The staff was nice and friendly, with lots of smiles. The Italian hoagie was great, it had a little more mayo than I normally like but that's easy to fix. The meats and condiments were both fresh and delicious and the portion size was perfect. The real star though was their Ruben. I am a snob when it comes to Ruben sandwiches and this one really hit the spot. The Marble Rye was well-toasted with the right amount of burnt to give a good toasted flavor all the way through the sandwich. The sauerkraut and the spicy mustard really pulled the pastrami and marble rye together without overpowering the thousand island dressing. All in all, this has to be one of the best Rubens in town. I am definitely coming back to try some of the other sandwiches.

Being from the east coast I was really excited to try this place especially after all of the fantastic reviews. The bread was great as was the pesto pasta salad. The turkey sandwich was pretty good, steak and cheese was eh ok. It just didn't hit the mark for me. I tried a to go container of the chicken salad and threw it out after 1 bite. They added way too much dill or lemon, I don't really know what it was but it wasn't good. That being said, I loved the cute location. It's surrounded by antique stores. I'll definitely come back to try the Italian sub, it looks delicious.

Great place with local vibes. The cheesesteak is phenomenal and worth going back again just for that item. Service is great & the staff is friendly & welcoming.

I'm pretty sure their pesto pasta salad just changed the trajectory of my life. Absolutly delicious, culinary genius. Mind boggled at how good it is. Actually going back for more of this pesto pasta salad. Best pasta salad I've ever had. Throw some chicken in it and I would have it every meal of the day.Sadly there is no indoor seating, it's really a take it to go place. 3 or 4 outdoor tables though. I havnt eaten the sandwhich yet, the pasta salad was so good I had to drop everything and leave this review. I'm sure the sandwhich will be bangin'

This is food that makes you feel good to be alive! Very thankful for these wonderful people and the service they provide. Can’t wait to be back and try something new. I’d add a photo but I’m too busy enjoying my sandwich to pause each time and snap a photo!Kid-friendliness: Very accommodating for kiddos and they always have some fun cookie options for an after meal treat.

If you are looking for the best subs in San Antonio then your search is over! I just went to Beacon Hill Market and Deli for lunch just about an hour ago and I am alrwady reviewing. I read about it a couple of months ago but had forgotten abput it amid the chaos that befalls us during year-end. My boss and I were looking for a lunch spit and he suggested it. When he did, the lightbulb of reminder went off in my head, recalling the write-up I read. "Oh yeah, let's go there!" I said enthusiastically, and so we did amd I am glad. Today's special was the meatball sub, amd that sounded good to me. My boss got the cheesesteak which looked as good as the one I get from Malik's, I will definitely have to try it though. My sandwich was fantastic, and it was one of the best meatball subs I have ever had. I got a side of Greek pasta salad that was delicious. Their menu isn't huge but what they have on it hits. I will definitely have to try the Italian, the Cheesesteak, and also the hot pastrami. The service is quick and attentive, and the shop itself is small with no nonsense ambiance, with tables just outside allowing one to dine there I am definitely adding Beacon Hill to my lunch roatation! You should, too.

Ordered a Turkey sandwich and Philly Cheese Steak sandwich. The bread was soggy and chewy on the Philly. The Philly barely had any cheese, onions and peppers. The meat on the Philly cheese steak was either low grade beef or ground meat; it tasted more like ground meat. The Turkey sandwich was ok but the bread was chewy. For the price there should be better bread and flavor on a Philly. Firehouse subs is better
