We had an amazing evening at Biga Restaurant.Everything, from the deck overlooking the riverwalk to the creative menu, was excellent. The Scottish Salmon was perfectly done with an unusual, delicious topping. My husband loved the one-half Lamb Rack. I have not seen this in fine dining restaurants before, but they serve half portions on some of their main course meals. Much appreciated! Our waiter, Ben, was a delight - most gracious and helpful.

Incredible dishes. From appetizers through to the desserts!Fair portions, great flavors. Some unique combinations.Simple eloquent decor.Staff were all welcoming and helpful. Our waiter had the correct amount of being seen at the table. Let us enjoy the evening, but there when we needed him.Parking: Parking garage across advertised $10 parking. Biga's validated parking. So win-win.

We got a table on short notice and were given a wam greeting a seated immediately. My wife must be gluten free and our waiter was extremely well versed in what the kitchen could and could not do for her. We split a rack of lamb and it was cooked perfectly. I had an order of cornbread that was delicious. For dessert the chef prepared a gluten free Grand Marnier Vanilla Soufflé that my wife said was the absolute best dessert she has had in 30 years!!Dietary restrictions: Gluten Free

Wow!We are staying in a hotel just south of the riverwalk, and my wife picked Biga based on a fairly generic qualification, of:1: restaurant is on riverwalk2: gluten free reviews (she has celiac) were positive (they indicated nearly anything could be made GF)What we didn’t know was that we would have the pleasure of having our server, Chris S, lead us through ordering an absolutely delightful dinner, in a quieter and more conversation-provoking atmosphere than most of the riverwalk. The chef has a marvelous signature dish with antelope and quail. We chose to each get a special salad and split the main. Chris suggested a few wines for great pairing (we had 2 of the 3, and they were MARVELOUS!), and because we saved space for dessert we were able to each have the sticky toffee pudding (my wife’s was gluten free, for which extra thanks is proffered to Amy, the pastry chef, for taking the time to adapt!)We were not expecting to find such a wonderful meal, at a place that suits us so well, with such a personable server—so we are delighted to share this with you all!If we return to San Antonio (we drove down from Denver, CO for spring break, having never been here before) we will dine here again!Dietary restrictions: GF —can make just about ANYTHING work for a celiac.

Ray was absolutely lovely. He made our honeymoon dinner so special and was so kind. 100% recommend this place for dinner and/or a special occasion. The food was incredible and the wine pairings were so fun and delicious. Thank you, Ray!

We came with specific diet restrictions, and the staff, from Chef Bruce Auden to the waiter to different cooks checking on ingredients, were absolutely stellar! Vegetarian food was outstanding, down to the cheeses and bread (without eggs). Excellent tea, wonderful and thoughtful service. Most highly recommended!

Stumbling across a gem like Biga is like finding that you've got the winning cricket jersey from an Australian World Cup Final - a rare and joyous occasion indeed! I had the distinct privilege of hosting my dad's 65th birthday bash at this venerated San Antonio establishment and let me tell ya, it was a ripper! The radiant ergonomics of the space gleamed with an aura of sophistication, evoking an atmosphere that had my heart bouncing like a kangaroo in the outback.Have you ever had the experience of downing a red velvet martini that, like a didgeridoo performance, reverberates through your being? Well, if not, then Biga will redefine the cocktail game for you. Every sip was like diving into a lush, velvet sea, chinning a heady and tantalizing journey through the echelons of mixology. Now let's all just take a moment to appreciate the culinary bravura of the chef. The lamb was as succulent as a ripe mango on a hot summer day at Bondi beach. The precision of the cooking struck a chord with me, the meaty melody of flavors humming a delectable tune. The salmon too reeled in heaps of praise from our party, flaking perfectly onto our forks - a true triumph from the deep sea.Yet, what tied this gastronomical journey together was the final act, the sweet climax: a sticky date pudding that had everyone at the table raising their spoons in admiration. It was served with a lovely note from the kitchen that added an endearing touch to the already joy-filled atmosphere, like a friendly 'G'day' from a fellow Aussie. All in all, Biga impressed with its fusion of elegant dining, sensational flavors and inviting hospitality. It comes together brilliantly, offering an experience that is, to put it simply, 'fair dinkum.' I sail out with a grin like a shark that's just chomped on a great white. So score one for Biga, earning a well-deserved 5-star review from yours truly. As I would say in good ol' Aussie terms, Biga, you've done us a beauty!

Biga was my go-to-place to enjoy the fine dining experience that San Antonio could offer. The atmosphere, still wonderful like always, however the food and the service has degraded. I was disappointed on the foie gras. It came sired, but under cooked. The main course (lamb) was served lukewarm and even though it did not lacked in flavor it had a rubbery texture. Don’t get me started with the wine recommendations and how the wine was served. We skipped dessert in fear of continuing our disappointment. As I left, sadness came over me as I had made wonderful Epicurious experiences at Biga.
