I am SOOOOOO surprised this place has 3.8 stars. I feel like everyone is being generous. The complimentary bread was soooo hard, the food was so subpar. The jambalaya was salty, frog legs were goey. We ordered a few dishes and they were all either too salty or under seasoned. The service was AMAZING though. The only reason I gave it 2 stars. But I'm so surprised this place actually gets business. I'm confused.

This place is Bourbalicious! The owner is friendly, greets and speaks to each guest or party. The interior has a very relaxed atmosphere. They have an excellent wait staff. They are very good at tending to their diners. The food is freshly prepared so that your meal is always on point. Their menu selection has a variety of items so to satisfy any ravenous eater. There is an full service bar as well. They have lunch specials available too. Never have had a bad meal yet.

Hadn’t been to 1604 location in years. Arrived and noticed the absence of customers especially for a saturday night. After we received our orders, understood why the business was so sparse. In my prospective food was barely passable considering cost. Service was bad considering the lack of other customers. After receiving tab I question a 2% charge for the use of a credit card, since I was not told about it before I ordered. After I questioned the manager said he couldn[‘t remove because it was in the system. He said the sign that read “you can save money by paying cash” should have warned me. The sign was posted as you walked in and hard to find. The fact that I am charged for anything that I wasn’t warned about, disturbed me. The manager is a joke and provided pathetic explanation. I paid with cash and a credit card and the additional charge for credit card still remained WILL NEVER EAT THERE AGAIN AND WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE.

Beware of charges: sales tax, liquor tax, food tax and card tax ( I paid cash.) Waiter and manager approached our table after we paid complaining about the amount of tips we all left. The water/tea girl checked on our table more than the waiter. Maybe waitstaff should be paid decent wages and no tipping. Also, they should adjust prices to include all the extra taxes. Seafood platter was awful...I get better at Red Lobster. Needless to say will not visit this establishment in the future.

Large menu and daily specials make deciding on a meal difficult. Always have the alligator appetizer and bread pudding for dessert.

If you like just OK food with a mound of white rice shoveled on your plate you might like the place. I myself expect a bit more for my money.

Service and food was terrible. I gave this a second chance with same results. Sad for us.

I had crabcakes Tasted like it came out of a can, it was pretty though. 1 bite was all i could get down. Gumbo soup was way too much powdered rue was strong taste was ok, salty i ate half the bowl because I was hungry. There goes trying new places! My husband had the oysters he loved them. Decor of this place was dated the floors, especially at the entrance was dirty and uninviting. It had the surface markings of a high end restaurant it was lacking surface cleanliness to look polished. There was paper on the floor, it needed a sweep. The smell was not the best sort of a restroom deoderizor smell? It was not good. Our waiter was fast and friendly though!

Stopped in here for a catfish lunch and was pleased for sure. We started with the chicken and sausage gumbo. It was decently flavorful with a lot of heartiness and not just rice. I got the blackened catfish with redbeans and rice. Catfish was really good but the redbeans could've used a little flavor. My wife got the jambalaya and it was good and filling. They bring enough for 3 meals. Service was outstanding.
