First time going because La Perla was closed. I order to-go so I didn't experience dine in service, but the food was delicious and not a long wait for my order to be ready. Will go again and maybe dine in. Won't give a five star until I do have a dine in experience. I do hope that this restaurant succeeds. God bless and good luck.

This is my second time coming to this restaurant first time I walked out after not being seated felt like they left the door open and no one went to work. The second time around the food was average nothing special I ordered the chicken poblano that was all cream (don't recommend) but everything just felt off. The wait staff was too distracted as they all sat at the bar and never really walked to check on tables and guests. The restaurant is very well decorated and very cute but just proper attention to your guests will make the difference here. I paid my bill and left I wouldn't personally come back but this is what a review is for to let you know to improve or stay the same. Good luck

Hostess greeted us and sat us down in a timely matter. My husband and I waited for our waitress , I noticed another couple seemed frustrated and was trying to get the waitress attention but the waitress never came . The hostess came and asked if someone had taken their order and they responded no . Hostess took their order but never took ours and said she will be right back at that point the waitress Jasmin finally came but went to another couples table and took their order that had just been seated So at that point we just got up and left . Before we left another couple was frustrated as well and left the restaurant. Horrible organization and customer service. Unfortunately we will not be going back thankfully there is a larger selection of restaurants in that area to choose from.

I personally don't recommend this place To eat, the atmosphere is good but the food is HORRIBLE ,Apart from the fact that you have to wait a long time,

We wanted to give this place a chance since so many businesses are opening on the southeast side, which we are excited about. We usually have our tacos at the corner restaurant but decided to try Don Benito's. It was a Saturday morning, so we expected a wait time however, we were seated right away, which we were thankful for.Our waitress was courteous, we asked for a booth, and we immediately had our drinks and our chip and salsa. We began to order, this restaurant doesn't have a kid friendly menu, so my son settled for chicken fajitas quesadilla ( which was an appetizer, but it could be a meal based on the size)My daughter ordered the tortilla soup, they didn't have different sizes, only 1, so she had a huge bowl of soup she did not finish. My husband wanted tacos but there is an only 2 taco of the same kind meal, so he would need to get 2 barbacoa tacos to get the rice or pay the difference and not get the rice so he just got the Carne guisada tacos with cheese to get the rice and a side of guacamole like the menu stated.I asked if they carried chicken fajita tacos, and she pointed to a chicken charred taco, I asked if it was the same, and she said yes with green peppers and onion plus rice and a side a guacamole. So I ordered that it was different so I was a little nervous. We got our food, like I stated, my son's plate was a whole meal, not an appetizer, which we ordered. I don't think it's an issue, but as a business owner, that is money left on the table. My daughter's soup was enough to feed a family of 3, it was pretty big, and because of that, she did not finish her soup.My husband and I got our food, okay so we did not get the guacamole as stated on the menu.My tacos we anything but chicken fajita tacos, it was sliced pieces of breast grilled and overly seasoned. It did not have any bell peppers or onion as the menu stated, I told the waitress, and she asked (with an attitude) for my plate to prove to her manager they were made wrong... ok..It didn't feel like an authentic Mexican restaurant, I think they should redo their menu and watch their portion size.

I don't always trust going to a new Mexican food restaurant. However, this risk paid off. The food was Deelicious, prices were good, service was great and nice

Went to try this place the other day and it's wayyy bigger on the inside with a nice decor and nice patio. The guy staff was cool so shout out to them, but the girls seemed to have some attitude problem, and it wasn't even busy. I ordered a torta and added cheese and guacamole. Regretted it because I forget San Antonio likes to add cheddar like we're at Taco Bell, the flavor didn't blend well together and I don't even think they put the avocado. The meat was cooked good just didn't have any seasoning like add some salt, I needed to drown it in salsa and lime to make it edible. Overall not great unfortunately

Don Benito's is a nice little restaurant near the Brooks City Base area. Their food is good, their restaurant is attractive and clean, and their waitresses are efficient and friendly. I started going a while back when we noticed a sign outside for a special deal for a cheese enchilada plate and also their margaritas. We went every week pretty much to take advantage of that deal. They then discontinued it, but have just recently started it again. Yesterday I was going to meet my brother for lunch elsewhere, when he noticed they had the sign up again for the same special, so naturally, we went in for lunch and a margarita. The food was served hot and fresh and the margarita hit the spot.

They don't do breakfast at all. This is not the place to order carne guisada. The rest of the food was delicious.

This place was the best but i guess they decided to close permanently. I believe that they have another location on military dr. southside. I have not been to that location. Disappointed!

The service was great . But the food not so great . The chicken mole enchiladas were decent . My wife ordered the shrimp tacos with charro beans and guacamole-Bad idea . She has been sick the whole night . Kept running to the toilet and kept me up all night . Definitely avoid this place or just go for cheap margaritas and quesadillas. I’m sorry don Benito’s . I won’t be returning. They dropped the ball on a very easy meal . Ruined our night . I even had to send back my tortilla soup cuz the chicken looked pink . Glad I didn’t eat it or I would of been sick right along with my wife
