In town for a few days and Garcia’s was just a few minutes walk from where we stayed. Grabbed 5 breakfast tacos to go and it was only $16. Everything was incredible and they included a ton of good hot sauce and pico. The brisket and machacado tacos were insanely good!

Since "discovering" Garcia's about 2 yrs ago after moving back to San Antonio, I have put this restaurant in my permanent rotation for lunch. I don't let a month go by without at least one lunch at Garcia's. I always, always, always get the brisket plate. Excellent dry rub brisket. Just fantastic. It's best on Mon-Wed but is good every day. I wasn't sold on this place the first time I went b/c I wasn't happy I had to pay for chips and salsa. Also, I ordered carne guisada the first time and it was good, but not great. I came back a 2nd time weeks later and noticed most people in the restaurant (it's small) had the brisket plate. So, I ordered it and experienced nirvana. Seriously. It's a family run place: brother and two sisters (maybe more). Always crowded between 12 and 1 PM on weekends. Brisket is good if bought in large quantities for your own party too. I go back a lot and everyone who tries the brisket has good things to say.Pay attention to the man with rooster painted series on the left wall...it's funny. 4 paintings. Why 4?

Dang I went one day and it was great. Went back 2 days later, ordered same plate and it was just a disappointment. I don’t get it. Enchiladas were not hot and chili con carne was different.
First time here. Atmosphere gave it a three because it’s a really small restaurant. I ordered the brisket taco with avocado and pico de gallo and it was flawlessly - Delicious. My Love ordered the Carne plate, she is very picky with her Carne Guisada , but with this Carne Guisada she never complained. She never talked until she was done eating. when she was done She Said: This Carne Guisada was delicious. I will definitely come back to this restroom.
