Called in an order the previous day for a very important party and confirmed with the lady on the phone what was needed, next day they claim the order was never called in and that there's no manager on site and nobody had a clue what I was talking about. Also claiming they spoke no English what so ever so they couldn't help with anything. Had they owned up to their mistake things would be different but they played the "I have no idea what your saying" card just made matters worse. Very pissed off with this place.

I’ve been going to Dona Tota for years. And the service and food used to be great. But idk if it’s just this location but yikes. The people working just seem annoyed you’re there. I come here because I live around here so unfortunately it’s the closest. The quality has taken a nose dive. Last time I came, the girl was very unfriendly and my Gordita was hot on the outside and cold on the inside. I just popped it in the microwave and ate it anyways. Even the guy that prepared it just dropped it on the counter and walked away with no words. But today I just paid almost $7 for TWO canned sodas! I did a double take when she said the price. I can buy a 12 pack at Walmart for that. I understand inflation but that’s ridiculous. I’m not paying ridiculous prices for medium warm food and bad service. And it’s not busy or the end of the day when I go so it’s not an excuse that they’re tired or overwhelmed. It’s just disappointing.

The stews are delicious, they just add very little because the fatties are small. But almost all of them are delicious. The guys' service is good but the women's service is not so good.

Lovely staff, very helpful. They were singing along to the music. Felt very welcoming. Had handicap ramp and tables with pull out metal chairs. Try the pollo pibil, or go for the supreme ;).

The best gorditas in San Antonio, Gorditas Doña Tota. The super delicious stews. The attention of the employees... EXCELLENT!!The place very clean. The bathrooms are clean too.Plenty of free parking. My order consisted:In two specials of 4 gorditas and 2 sodas.Total: 39 dollars.I ordered the chubby ones from:Pressed chicharon. DELICIOUS!Chicharon in green sauce. PICOSITESDesebrada meat. FANTASTIC.Pork stew. MY FAVORITE.There are three separate types of sauces.Red sauce.Green sauce.Marinated red sauce with pork rinds. You can serve all three yourself. All three are very good. And they have all three of them in a warmer so that when they are served, they are warm and fresh. They are delicious. They have more variety of food on the menu.Saucers. Tacos. Flutes. And more..The atmosphere is familiar... but also in this location they have a patio to go out to eat outside the premises. Beautiful? Clean and safe.I highly recommend it.Accesible price.Location: San Antonio. TX. (Any Gorditas Doña Tota location is great.)Establishment: super clean.Service: EXCELLENT AS USUAL ON ANY LOCAL OF GORDITAS DOÑA TOTA.
I am from Cd. Victoria where the authentic Doña Tota gorditas come from and in San Antonio it is the only place where I find this restaurant. I gave them three stars because the filling was good but the dough was hard, cold and somewhat burnt. And that ruined the rest. I wish they could continue working on it because reading the reviews it is a detail from years ago. In the meantime I will continue visiting the De San Pedro.
The gorditas are delicious, but they don't fill you up or you quickly get hungry.
