We ordered biscuits with coffee. Biscuits were made from scratch and very tasty. Great French press coffee. Chicken and Waffles were ok but Waffles were to hard. Ham and green tomato eggs Benedict were on, what looked like agrilled biscuit. Biscuit was dry. French toast was also dry.. needed more egg custard.

I really enjoy this place. The atmosphere is great, outdoor seating is fantastic. Most of all the food is always good! I highly recommend the “Dips & Spreads” its pimento cheese, hummus, & spinach artichoke. Their Pimento Cheese is awesome. Happy hour from 3-6 might be one of the best deals in the immediate area of the quarry

Been here 4 times and had this been our first experience, I don’t think we’d be back. (Today was not the busiest we’ve ever seen).First it took about 20 min to get someone’s attention at the bar for service and we were even actively trying to say “hey” to get someone to turn around. Once we finally got to order drinks, it took another 15 min to get someone to come back over- again we had to wave them down from our seats.Our food came, and it took about 10 minutes of us waiting to get our servers attention for silverware and to explain my husbands order came out wrong, before we finally gave up and got our own silverware and ate what we got. Last bite, our server FINALLY came over and asked if everything came out ok and when we said no, he was like “oh well you’re on your last bite, and walked away again. It is now taking another 20 or so min to get someone to take our card to pay.This has been a rough experience!

Wonderful food, Wonderful atmosphere, and wonderful staff. If you are in San Antonio, even if only for an hour, do yourself a favor and eat at Ida Claire.
This was my first visit here and I can't say it was a horrible experience. However, I was disappointed that my waffle was never warm enough to melt butter. It wasn't even warm to the touch. I was reluctant to send it back because I didn't want to seem "difficult", but I very politely did and showed how the butter wasn't even melting as I was trying to spread it. Then, I received another waffle and it was the same thing again. I didn't send it back a 2nd time. Taste wise, my chicken and waffle was good. I'm just disappointed I couldn't get a hot waffle, when I've received good hot food at lesser costs in other establishments.

Got the honey mustard 1/2 chicken. Hardly ate the chicken, it was a small breast piece with a leg quarter. The chicken skin was tasty. When I cut into the chicken $21, it was under cooked pink and near the bone a little blood. Didn't return it, didn't complain, I'll just post a review and never return. The side dish was fantastic, creamy cheddar spaetzle.

Was visiting the city and decided to try out this place and was not disappointed! The food was so delicious and can’t wait to go back. Definitely get there early as it is crowded and I did have to wait some time before getting seated. My sister and I loved the green sauce and the fried green tomatoes were delicious. No complaints whatsoever!
