Happy hour...almost empty. We were a large crowd...12 people and we could hear each other talk. It was wonderful. We all enjoyed our time there. Wait person was very good.

The fajitas are great. I would like to give them a better review but the house salad was super expensive and nothing more the shredded iceberg lettuce, a slice of tomato, and a scope of guacamole. This was on a little plate ( not even a bowl) and at a whopping $7 for this. The pico de Mayo that came with the fajitas was bigger. They also charge a lot for shrimp add on. No prices seem to be posted. I wish I could give it a higher rating because the fajitas was good.

I ordered the small tortilla soup and a frozen strawberry margarita. The tortilla soup tasted good, but it didn’t have enough chicken in it. :(. Not an even chicken/broth ratio. The margarita was really yummy. I’m a lightweight so I felt buzzed after drinking half of it. The service is really good. Everyone there is very friendly.

Order the chicken, smothered in queso. This is the same queso that you can order as an appetizer. The chicken breast were super thin and just very disappointed in the whole ordeal.

I would be generous with my rating if this were a first-time experience. But it's not. This was a second experience with good food but poor service, poor atmosphere, and no management assistance.Service took over 10 minutes to arrive at the table, despite what appeared to be a full wait staff and only a modest number of filled tables. The drink order took over 15 minutes to reach our table--water, ice tea, and a bar drink--despite a fully manned bar. The hors d'oeuvre arrived 20 minutes after being ordered and less than a minute before the main course was served. The food was good but all overwhelmed the small table. Our server was clearly overwhelmed and under-supported. The manager seemed to float above it all and had no interest in the wait staff performance at any of the tables. There are many, many good or great Tex-Mex restaurants in the area. Next time, I will check there first.

Only giving 3 stars because of the server who did a good job. I ordered the tortilla soup and guacamole salad. I asked for no tortillas strips since I have a gluten sensitivity. Unfortunately I had to send the soup back because they put tortilla strips in it. What was interesting is the second bowl of soup was hotter than the first. The guacamole salad was horrible. A slice of tomato and a small portion of guacamole on top of a bunch of chopped lettuce with hot oil doesn’t not make it a salad and was not worth the extra money. The soup was okay but didn’t really have any flavor.

Yesterday at la Fonda in Alamo heights I had the most unpleasant experience , our waiter served us chips and salsa in un-washed very grease bowls , then the chips were stale and had mold on them . When it was brought To his attention he tried to brake the chip and walk off to bring another bowl , shortly another waiter pasted by and I brought it to his attention and he was very dismissive and just said okay . I’m just bring awareness to these business and restaurants, they need to take more accountability for these unsanitary actions, because mold is very serious and people can get sick. This just goes to show this restaurant isn’t following proper guidelines when it comes to food handling and maybe it should be looked into . Your welcome

The food was not great. I was very disappointed. The beans were dry and bland, the rice was just ok, the enchilada sauce was bitter.
