Went there after going to another place which ended up not being open. To my surprise it was not only open but it was very distinctively nice inside. The walls eye catching. Service was pleasantly friendly & the food was amazing. Almost as good as my grandma's but I'll never tell.Parking: Not alot of parking spots. Other businesses closed today so more availability.Kid-friendliness: Couple big groups of family with their children dining in. No waiting for food preparation so children didn't have to wait to eat.

It was our first time. The food was amazing. So much so that we ate there 2 days in a row. Excellent customer service. Our waiters recommendations were on point. Loved the live music.

We been coming here for many years being that we are Puerto Ricans and it's hard to find great food. The staff is Super Nice and they don't judge and they treat everyone equally no matter how you dressed or how you look and they also have a great buffet. Food is delicious and you will not regret eating authentic Puerto Rican food.Kid-friendliness: They have meals for kids as well.

I enjoyed this taste of Puerto Rico. The food was fresh and yummy. I LOVE alcapurria and was so happy to see it on the menu. The restaurant is quaint- could use some updating but it was cute inside. They had a live singer and he was very good :). I gave 4 only because it could be updated and they don't have a bar- however I got the parcha juice and it was delicious. Not sure if they had any other juices bcuz we only got canned soda and water. My waitress was great and the other servers- I did not find the hostess to be up to par with the others. She literally pointed to a table and said 'you can sit there' I had to ask and clarify that she is not bringing us to our table- I almost left- hopefully she was just off that day. Anyway I will def go back. We enjoyed everything we ate.

So far the best Puerto Rican Cuban food that I found in San Antonio and I have eaten in quite a few places.

I love a good buffet so La Marginal was right up my alley and it didn't disappoint. It isn't a large selection but you have a few options.

I am puertorrican and have been to a couple of puertorrican restaurants in a couple of states; so far this has been the best one. It is as good as eating my grandma’s food in the Island.

Opens at 11, food still not ready at 11:30. Inquired about beverages at 11:20 and was told 5-10mins. Still waiting for my silver ware and beverage order to be taken at 11:35. Place is starting fill up. Not what it once was. Staff is obviously frazzled. Would love to review the food but unsure if Ill get to that point. -frustrated

Amazing. After having a wonderful experience during the holidays on the island, it was nice to find authentic Puerto Rican food in San Antonio of this high quality.La Marginal is not new, and I did visit years back, and it was good then, but they have made many changes that have only made it better.I got to try their buffet from 11 am to 3 pm on my birthday with my wife (closed on Tuesdays, FYI) and it was amazing. For a reasonable price you get a terrific variety, including chicken, pernil, rice and beans either yellow or white, maduros, and salad, yuca french fries, and dessert Coconut flan, or flan de queso.Other than the Yuca fries which are a take or leave for me, the pernil is super tender and cooked to perfection, the chicken is soft and juicy, and the rice and beans and maduros were perfect. After two buffet plates my wife and I were stuffed. Best meal we have had since the holidays in Puerto Rico. This will be our go to place for the holidays and special occasions in San Antonio this year and every year as long as they are around and the quality stays this high.Extra plus the atmosphere is really nice. You feel like you are in PR.So happy ?!!!
