Under staffed. After waiting for almost 10 minutes to buy a bottle of water with only one person ahead of me, I noticed the self checkout in the corner. I went over to purchase my water and when trying to pay only then noticed the “Lane Unavailable” on the payment module screen (if it’s not working, make it obvious). Went back in line, now I was third in line and waited even longer watch the well-meaning worker work through her tasks which included flipping through receipts for some reason.

I am actually shocked for airport food. Service was amazing and friendly, and flavors were awesome. The portions for the chips and queso is a full on meal (for most people).Dip in the queso before the salsa for maximum stickage....other way around is maximum slippage :).Women behind the counter treated me like a proper bartender would....not a fly by night server at an airport seeing thousands pass through. So freaking refreshing.

Wonderful and thoughtful service. Food is great, and the salsa is unique with a hint of smokey flavor.On thoughtful service, I have a gluten allergy, and they were happy to accommodate it. They swapped out the flour tortillas for corn and cleaned the grill before preparing my meal. I told the bartender up front, and she communicated my needs to the kitchen. I was very glad with the level of service I received and the accommodations for my allergy.One note, you need to order at the bar even if you're sitting at a table.Dietary restrictions: I have a gluten allergy. They were able to swap out the flour tortillas for corn, and they cleaned the grill before preparing my meal. I told the bartender up front, and she communicated my needs to the kitchen.

Ordered the chicken quesadillas and had severe food poisoning that night. 30 min after eating, I got really shaky about to board my plane to Orlando. Tried so hard not to get sick on the flight. Once I landed in Orlando, I had a high fever, puking from 10 pm to 4 am ended up missing my 6 am flight that morning to my final destination because there’s no way I would have made it. Had to put more money towards another flight and hotel stay for missing my previous flight. Make sure you wash your hands and check the chicken
Literally my favorite airport restaurant! Food is delicious! Couldn't even tell I was at an airport restaurant from the way the reasonably priced food tasted. Service (Raeleen) was even better, and helped the time pass almost too quickly.

Come to San Antonio for the the heat, come to SAT for the Fruteria. Raeleen is a great server and the ambiance is perfect for a preflight margarita and quesadilla.
