We've had a great experience during our past visits. Unfortunately, our service was terrible tonight. I had to remind our server about my drink order and had to ask her for water and tea refills. My food order was wrong, so I had to wait for it to be remade. By the time my food came, my husband had finished eating. We weren't asked if we wanted dessert, which we have gotten during our previous visits. Our server didn't check on us. The food is excellent and I love the atmosphere, but tonight's service was horrible.

I have been looking for a place that has authentic Matzah Ball soup since I moved to San Antonio on 2017. Now in 2024 I am pregnant and have been craving it non stop, it was by luck I found the Hayden on Uber eats however I was never able to order as it always said the restaurant was busy. So last night 4/3/2024 my husband and I decided to make the drive to try it out. Needless to say I was blown away at how good the food was. My husband had the Hayden Burger which he gave a 10/10. I asked our server to give compliments to the chef as this was the first Matzah Ball soup I had since I was able to visit my in laws who made it from scratch wayyy back in 2005.Only con I would say was the lemonade was SOUR SOUR, it could just be my wacked out taste buds due to pregnancy. Overall we would definitely be back again, just wish it wasn't such a far drive from us.

Service was excellent but the food was okay. I miss the restaurant that was there previously. I had the matzoh ball soup and not unlike another review, I did think the matzoh ball was even less than par than the Manischewitz mix. My husband had a turkey sandwich and he thought it was good but nothing special. My mother-in-law had a patty melt, and also thought it was okay.

I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here. The service wasn't very attentive and the food is just okay. The people are nice just not attentive. My toast was very burnt and the only good thing was the potatoes. Probably won't go here again.

Pimento Cheese and chips are good, but the chips were stale. I ordered matzo ball soup and was brought a salad instead. No one ever checked back with us after we got our food. The food at The Hayden on Broadway is much better. I will not be going back to The Hayden on NW Military anymore.

This is one of my favorite go to spots. I live for the matzo ball soup, I don't recall a time that I've visited and not paired it with my meal! The pimento cheese app is delicious as well. Another great option is the Elaine's big Salad. The staff is kind and the restaurant is always clean and organized.

The food was awful and terribly overpriced. The matzo ball soup tasted like the package from Manishevitz but not as tasty. Top this off with very slow service and you know why I will never go back
I was excited to try this place but was disappointed with my experience. Horrible horrible service. Took 45 minutes to get our food and it wasn’t that crowded. Our server never checked on us, didn’t refill coffee, brought my kids’ drinks 15 minutes after we got ours, and when I asked if our food was going to be ready soon she never apologized for the time it took or anything. I think she was embarrassed or something because she had 3 separate people bring us our food instead of her. Will not be returning or recommending.

My husband and I ate there yesterday and the server was really good. However, we ordered the pastrami sandwich and it was a big disappointment. There was hardly any meat and it did not have that delicious fresh pastrami taste you expect in a pastrami sandwich. There was more bread to the sandwich than meat. And the fries were over cooked, hard and oily. We will not be returning.
