“My adventures brought me recently to a new business and eatery in Bridge City,Texas. This restaurant has been opened just a few weeks on Texas Avenue and the news I hear, it's a Big Hit. Greek Gyros is a small, yet attractive and clean restaurant that specializes in Mediterranean cuisine and they are doing a dare good job of it. The menu offers a large variety of options and a nice kid's menu also. I ordered several things to go and my order came quite fast. They even offered me a sample of their lamb to taste and I was very impressed how good it was. Tasted like a spicy sausage, quite palate-pleasing for this cajun girl tastebuds. I first ordered the hummus and pita for $5.99. Excellent hummus, delightfully smooth, creamy flavor, and the pita was so fresh, it was love at first bite for both. Next was the falafels with tzatziki sauce. I love falafel and these were quite good. A falafel (for those that may not know)is chickpea that is mashed, seasoned well and then fried. I like to eat them with hot sauce. Don't judge me. Falafel is a hard taste to describe. It is like a nutty hush-puppy or a vegetarian meatball, I just know I like it. My only criticism is that they were so small, but the flavor was very good. They were all the same size so they may have been commercial, not sure but still quite good. I'm not a fan of tzatziki sauce (or mayo, or sour cream) so i give no comment there. Next was the Greek Gyro , a lamb and beef mixture of spiced meat that is thinly cut with tomatoes, onions and served with tzatziki sauce. This sandwich was fantastic for $8.99. Their pita bread was served warm, and delicious. I can't say enough how good that pita bread is, simply the best. The veggies are fresh and the meat was tender, bursting with intense flavor. It was a large sandwich with heaping portions of meat that are seasoned to perfection. I guarantee you will savoy every bite.I totally enjoyed this sandwich. In summary, I like this restaurant, enough room for you and your family to go, eat and enjoy. The staff was friendly the atmosphere is comfortable and attractive, the food is good, and it is in a great location. If you're every in the Bridge City area and looking for something different, you won't go wrong if you stop by Greek Gyros. They are #BestBites approved. Support locals first. #eatbmt #bestbest #greekisgood On my second visit, I ordered the roasted red hummus and the Greek salad with chicken. Best hummus I ever had and the salad was fresh and delicious. Highly recommended.“
