Went here in a date with my fiance. Was super excited because I read the food was more like the California/Baja style Mexican food and I’ve been missing it! I’m from Texas but was stationed in San Diego for 8 years. First off the drinks were very good, atmosphere was great (the outside heaters didn’t work but they let us move inside), service was really good too! My fiance loved his fish tacos! I was unfortunately very unhappy with my tacos. I ordered two carne asada tacos at $6 each, and they don’t come with any sides. The tortilla was cracking, the meat was over marinated and the flavor was off. I’m hoping this was just a bad day because everything else tasted great! I’ll come one more time to check and will update this review once I do.

Some friends highly recommended this place to us, and we had a great first experience on our date night at Balcón. Vanessa, our server, was very attentive and knowledgeable. She was able to ask the right questions to provide the perfect suggestions for both drinks and meal. The carne asada taco was delicious, as were the warm chips with guacamole and the churro donut for dessert. The restaurant is located above Otsu Asian Bistro on Stagecoach. Since it was a nice evening, the garage window/doors were open we could look out over the city. There were also heaters around to keep things comfortable as the night cooled off. The music was lively and not too loud so we could still hear each other. We will definitely go back!

We don’t go out to eat that much, but we ate here twice in 5 days!- once for lunch and once for dinner, and they were both fantastic. Seriously some of the best and most elevated Mexican food (and flavors) we have had in a long time. The drinks were as pretty as they were enjoyable, and the food was SO SO GOOD! The decor and ambience (and view!) were unique and cool, and the service was very attentive yet laid back. We will absolutely be back- many MANY times!

The food and atmosphere are both on point. I've been here multiple times now and the wait staff is always very attentive and friendly, as well. The enchiladas verdes are a favorite as are the churro donuts! Stand out place and experience that is really needed in town.

As a California native. I have yet to find a good fish taco in the last two years in Texas.I give this place a 10 out of 10The fish tacos were perfect, The Homeade tortillas Phenomenal , Fish was fresh and cooked to perfection ,the cabbage was fresh And pico de gallo was wonderful.Cold Pacifico for myself and a two too Mango for my wife and daughter. Perfect mixWe were served quickly , and the food was served hot and definitely on pointI highly recommend this great establishment here in San MarcosWe will be returning regularly

My 5th time here and every single time I am blown away! Their bar drinks are great and not made with simple syrup. I have had several items on the menu and haven't been disappointed yet. A must to try is the Al Pastor taco and the Churro Donuts are AMAZING!!!!
AMAZING!! first things first service was excellent my server Mckenna was very attentive and made great conversation! Now onto the food, I indulged in the tuna tostada and the al pastor taco, both of which were excellent, flavorful and nicely plated, my favorite out of the two would be the tostada nice and light and refreshing. To drink I had the Oaxacan Passion, very nice and easy drink not to sweet as well. The restaurant was very nice inside and had plenty of seating both inside and out and I loved the vibe of the whole place. I would say everything was well worth the price and most definitely will be back again!!

Outstanding. Very unique menu with fantastic tacos. Not your normal Tex-Mex restaurant. Try all the tacos and special margaritas. It's not an inexpensive stop, but it is worth every penny.
This was an amazing dining experience. I did not expect such great tasting food from such a low key place. This was truly authentic Mexican food with an upscale twist and affordable price. The restaurant was located on an upper level with the stairs on the outside of the building. The atmosphere inside was casual yet elegant. The service was quite good and the staff were very friendly as they all helped out. Everything was made to look gourmet styled, even the drinks. I highly recommend this place.
