“Great "locals" bar but everyone has been friendly and welcoming. A few pool tables, darts league, and there's virtually always a DJ with a large dance floor. Great place to hang out, get your boogie on, and have cheap drinks with friends new and old.“
“Great dive bar out in the middle of nowhere. Dark, rustic and old school inside and the outdoor patio out back was neat as well. We just wanted to stop by for a quick drink on our way to Gruene just to say we went. Didn't stay long but had a Crown on the rocks and wife had a beer, 10 bucks for both. Can't go many places and say that. Bartender was great as well , good service. Definitely will come back again .“
“Such a great a little spot! Especially, on the weekends. Bartenders are always nice and very customer service driven. They also have a train that goes by quite often. Everytime the train goes by a little siren light, lights up and you get discounted shots! I mean how cool is that??? Grace, Hannah, and Kenzie are AWESOME.“
“First, it's an old bar in an old building, the walls are discolored and the furniture came from the 60s, 70s and 80s. The place is full of wonderful character and history.The staff are super friendly and helpful the customers are old locals and regulars, veterans and blue collar folks who enjoy a laugh and a beer. The bar is hanging with the tankards of regulars since time immemorable and the jukebox is loud.The kitchen, a newer addition, is small and a little slow but the food is top notch. Excellent pub items like tacos and burgers that are fresh and hot. I love the spicy Border War burger or the amazing breakfast tacos. Top it all off with a cold beer or genuinely the best Bloody Mary I've ever had and go home happy.I love Showdown, it's been around since before I was born. It and it's patrons have been a part of my life in a good way since I was little. If recommend it to anyone who is looking for a good drink and burger and kind people.Vegetarian options: Nothing vegan because it's all cooked on the same flat top, but a solid vegetarian burger that doesn't disappoint.Kid-friendliness: I was brought here as a kid growing up, I've brought my kids here to eat and play pinball and see family friends.Wheelchair accessibility: Pretty much stair free unless you want to eat on the second floor, lots of older veterans eat and drink here so plenty of accessibility.“
