Used to love Herbert's until I realized how unsanitary they are with their prep. I don't give af how clean you think you are, you should not be handling food with your bare hands, which is what the guys in the kitchen do in plain site. As I waited to pay, I watched a 300lb guy preparing food with his bare hands, grab a handful of shredded cheese, then lettuce, then tomato with his disgusting hand, and proceed to wipe it on his APRON!!! Now, I'm a pretty fair guy, but that is disgusting and the fact that the owners allow that to happen so casually is a huge red flag of a restaurant that is run below standards. I regret giving Herbert's my business for the years I did. I made the mistake of going back there tonight, and that's exactly what it was, a mistake. Herbert's has no dishes that they're well known for, mostly just combination plates of slop, refried beans, rice and enchiladas that are mid at best. All the awards on the wall are 20-30 years old for their midgrade salsa, or just for the fact that they have a decent lunch special. Menu is basic. Servers are good. Quality is poor and the prep is disgusting and an absolute joke.I hate to say it..GARCIAS IS BETTER!!!!!

You can always count on a great meal at a resonable price.
Can’t speak to rest of the menu but the fajitas were by far worst I’ve ever experienced at a “restaurant” I’ve had better grocery store frozen. Flavorless, tough and chewy. Looked like they’d been beaten with a hammer, chicken and beef. Not here to run anyone down but the fajita game needs a lot of help. And if you come here for a margarita- they are made with wine.
