I've been in San Marcos for 5 years and Mochas and Javas has been my favorite coffee shop the whole time! The coffee is the best (vanilla latte girl for life) and the fact that you can get an extra shot of espresso for free is amazing. Love their baked goods and their kitchen food is so good. Super fairly priced and great portions. All the people working there are super nice and do a great job of keeping it clean. Also whoever is on aux always has really good, chill playlists that are great for studying. Their wifi strength is awesome so it's nice to work on school assignments here. The only negative is that the outlets are loose so chargers will fall out of the wall. But I usually just fully charge stuff before going because the study vibes are immaculate. Overall can't recommend it enough :)

I tried my first food item at M&Js today— the pesto protein bowl— and it was not what I was expecting. I didn’t taste any pesto and it’s really sweet. Disappointed and couldn’t finish it.

My friend and I were just discovering brand new studying places so we wanted to check out Mochas and Javas since we have heard so many good reviews on the past, but our visit today disappointed us so much. When we went inside through the main entrance we had thought the place was open and thought so nicely of this local up until a rude employee aggressively told us “you have to make your way out, we are closed”.My friend and I were not aware of the hours and she could have told us to leave the establishment in a nicer manner, her tone was aggressive. My friend and I felt rushed and unwelcome, we have never been treated this way in any coffee shops in san marcos, especially since these coffee shops are meant to be friendly and welcoming to college students. My friend and I will not be coming back.

The coffee/matcha/chai is always super milky, just tastes like flavored milk. Not great. Food is pretty good though!

The drinks are always good here as is the service. This location can get pretty busy in the morning, but even so, the wait is never too bad for your drink.

With an overzealous towing company, I will never spend my dollars at this coffee shop again. Or any restaurant within this shop center.Three dollar coffee turned into $120 towing fee

Cool place but took the cook 15 minutes to make a sandwich on a slow day. You could see the men in the back do nothing which was pretty annoying.

Came for breakfast. Staff was friendly, but we waited awhile for our food & it wasn't very busy. The pancakes were really small and super dense & the bacon had a strange taste. Coffee was good.

An amazing coffee shop I was a long term regular at. I moved away from San Marcos, but I stop there and get a frozen hot chocolate or one of their amazing seasonal drinks every time I visit. Good prices, great vibes, and its a local buisness.? Their pancake day was the highlight of my month.

Kenny was great and suggested the East L.A. sandwich, which was excellent. I expressed my knee was injured, so he brought my food to me. I didn't catch the name of the young lady who did my Mocha Chino frapp, but she made it so good. I wish the large cup was bigger ? for the price.Sat it a retro leather chair as I ate. The sandwich was so good that I brought the other half to my husband ?

I wish I could rate their hambino sandwich, but I never received it via doordash. I would add a picture, but it would just be a picture of the air.ALSO, I ordered an iced CHAI latte, and received an iced espresso latte. TOTALLY different items with TOTALLY different ingredients.

It is becoming increasingly difficult to find a real cappuccino anymore; The one delivered to me was a 10 ounce latte with foam on top. The scone I ordered was dry and crumbly and the sandwich was a bit bland. Not a bad place by any stretch but I’m sure there are better in the area.Update 9/7/23: The business replied and I will give it another shot next I am down that way. I so appreciate businesses that try -
