I was freezing in Sealy on a regular Texas February day and stopped in for something to warm me up. You know a good Mexican restaurant if there are Spanish speakers at the tables. There were plenty. I asked for beef soup. They were out - another good sign. Then I went to the menudo. It came out perfect. And I mean perfect. They brought out three corn tortillas, cilantro, onions, fresh jalapeños, and two wedges of lime. More times than not, restaurant menudo tends to over spice. But like I said, this was the best menudo I've had since my grandmother's house. The only thing, if I had to say, was the lack of homeny. I don't like homeny in my menudo, so it was no big loss. Overall, I loved this place. It's a great place to hide out from Cub Scouts Camp for a bit of sanity.

My steak with onions was cooked on the flat griddle. The taste is very different when cooked with more grease in a pan. Salsas were just ok.

We were passing thru on our way to New Braunfels and found this little spot and decided to stop. We ordered the chilaquiles with salsa verde it came with beans. ? my husband ordered a side of nopales (cactus) my daughter ordered the egg and potatoes and it came with beans and tortillas. The taste was very authentic so it was delicious I can honestly say that all the food we ordered was very good. This will be our go to place for food when we pass thru. If you're wanting an authentic Mexican restaurant then you must try this place!

I'm picky with my Mexican food I do like it to be authentic. It surprised me how authentically delicious the food was no yellow cheese in this recipe I suppose it was family owned they did everything from kitchen to serving but I have no complaints my coffee cup was always filled and hot tortillas kept on coming .

Traveling thru town and google recommended this restaurant. I placed an order over the phone for a quick pickup. The call immediately went to voice mail BUT, the best part… owner called me back and took my order. I was 12 min awsy and he had it ready by the time I got there. Tacos were hot (temperature) and delicious. Hot sauce could be a bit more hotter but the flavor is great. I will definitely be back to try their menudo. Great price for the tacos considering the size of the taco. Very delicious.

Wrote comment 3+ years ago that El Comal food and service was excellent. Our group (BWTOG) has breakfast here once a month on average. In the past 3+ years the food and service have ALWAYS been EXCELLENT. We enjoy breakfast here at El Comal.
