Wonderful atmosphere and attentive friendly service. The menu is a little limited, but it is delicious. I will definitely go back when I'm in town.

The Powerplant Texas Grill is a vintage powerhouse converted to a restaurant. The building/main dining room is very impressive! Some of the old equipment is still in the dining room and adds a lovely vintage atmosphere. The restaurant offers inside and outside dining, both of which offer a beautiful view of the river. My companion and I were there for lunch. Our server was pleasant, but she forgot my companion's bar order, so we reminded her. She didn't check back with us, so we had to flag her down, twice. For our meal we ordered queso frog dip appetizer and the meatloaf and bison burger for our entrees. The appetizer was tasty and would be something I would order again. The meatloaf was just so-so and the portion was not what I would call generous. The side salad that came with it was the tiniest I had ever seen served in any restaurant! The bison burger was good, but overcooked/too charred.Perhaps we caught this place on an off afternoon, but I wasn't impressed with the food or the service. The atmosphere and view are both stunning though and worth giving this restaurant a try.Parking: The parking lot is right out front of the restaurant. There are plenty of parking spots including handicap parking.Kid-friendliness: I think kids would enjoy the restaurant and patio areas the best. They can spy turtles in the river below from either the main dining room or the patio. And there is a casual atmosphere and room to move around.Wheelchair accessibility: There are several handicap parking spots and a wheelchair accessible ramp. The only downside to the ramp is that it leads to the upper level of the restaurant, bar, and patio. The main dining room is not accessible by wheelchair.

It was our first time here. Newlyweds to the area of Kingsbury and Seguin, we wanted to try and find our "new" spot.Upon arrival, around 6pm, it was not busy we were able to get a table very quickly.A server greeted with a smile. We chose to sit outside because it was a gorgeous day.We started out with the fried stuffed jalapeno poppers, which was new for us and very yummy. Fresh jalapeños and the stuffing was delicious and creamy. My husband ordered the market price steak of the day with rice and pablano creamed corn. He ate everything. I ordered the Cajun pasta with steak medium rare, which included a side salad and garlic toast. Everything was delicious. My only complaint was the atmosphere based on the servers. They didn't seem to care to be there. I felt bad for whoever they were serving! Sluggish attitudes, no Inviting charisma from anyone, other than a smile. It dwindled my expectations for the place until I received my food. My server was great. He just didn't give us his name and I shouldn't have to ask for it. I didn't see a manager around, if there was, they didn't seem to want to be around either to make sure customers were greeted properly.Overall food and view was great, I just feel some more pep talks for the servers is needed.

This place is great in every way. See for yourself. While you’re there, do yourself a favor and get their meatloaf, their green beans, the poblano corn, and the pecan crusted chicken.

The atmosphere was nice. The waitress was just ok. I asked her twice what was the steak of the day and the price. She said t-bone and twice I heard her say $20.99. When I got the bill it was $29.95. For starters it tasted like a pork chop. And looked like a pork chop. Everyone that tried it said that's a pork chop. Then looking at my bill I had alcoholic beverage on my ticket I did not order. And a soda I did not order. When I mentioned it to the waitress she said she would take it off. But while she went to take it off, my daughter was on the way to the restroom. The waitress was complaining about me because I questioned my bill. The food was definitely not worth the price. The service wasn't great either. This was my first time there. It definitely will be my last.

The food is not that great and lacks flavor and cohesiveness. It is in a beautiful location, but it’s a shame the food and service are sub par.

Me and my husband stopped here while on vacation in Seguin. I'm vegan so wasn't sure there would be a lot of options for me but they did have some good items! I had the shrooms and rings basket. They only had ranch and gravy for dipping which isn't vegan so I just had them plain. I also had the Southwest Salad and asked for Italian dressing instead of the ranch it comes with. The views of the waterfall and river are amazing! And the ambiance is great too! I'd love to see a vegan burger or tofu options on the menu in the future. Maybe some vegan cheeses or vegan ranch dressings.Vegetarian options: Southwest Salad, rings and shrooms, chips and salsa and guacamole

Highly recommend. Wonderful food, great service. Had lunch outside on the deck overlooking the water, wonderful atmosphere. Was able to walk around some looking at some of the old equipment.

We were in town to visit the grandkids. Took Mom, Dad and kids to this place thinking the kids would get a kick out of it. The kids liked it. It's really cool what they have done to the place. Great views, the history they have implemented in to the restaurant theme. The food was good, the homemade potato chips and the frog dip are good. Our waitress was not pleasant at all. IDK, maybe she doesn't care for little boys. Our 5 Y.O. dropped his juice. Mom and I grabbed paper towels to wipe it up. Waitress offers nothing, we had to ask for more paper towels to clean it up. Then had to ask her for another drink for the child. No, here let me help, let me get another drink while you do that...I actually said to my daughter in law "apparently we are invisible". Her response was"I know, right!"If the place was busy and the waitress was busy I would get it, but there was only one other table with an older couple there and only one person at the bar.Overall, minus the service, it's a great place to visit for the atmosphere and history
