This is the best decision. We came in right after the lunch rush and though the restaurant was still somewhat full we were quickly seated and our drink orders were taken. The drinks were brought along with a very large warm pita and a dish filled olive oil, feta cheese, and, ground oregano (?). I could have made a meal of that alone!
My wife order salmon with rice and I order the lamb shank stew. After a short wait, the meals were brought to the table. Please understand, I'm a big man with a huge appetite. The moment I saw my plate, I knew I was going to need a "to-go" box. If you and your significant other love a hearty meal but you don't eat large portions, I recommend ordering one and sharing this!.
I trave the world, this is the best lamb shank stew I have ever had! The meat falls off the bone and the flavors explode!
The salmon, according to my wife was grilled to perfection. A light crust on the outside and very moist on the inside.
During our meal, the owner would visit every table to see how his staff was doing. Our server was outstanding and we showed our appreciation to him.
After dinner, we ordered baklava (both pistachio and cashew) to-go. (I took a bite of the pistachio already, it's homemade and quite delicious.)
The next time we're back in San Antonio, this will be a mandatory stop.
