Brian/Bryan the server was knowledgeable and courteous. "Monkey Brain" appetizer and the specialty tuna rolls were all excellent. Sashimi platter of barracuda, young seabream and snapper was very good. Barracuda was delicate, fantastic; the umami-heavy seabream was slightly fishy, yet good, and the snapper was most complex with a more fatty feel than the other two. Make sure to ask for the fresh wasabi. Astonishing quality for a strip-mall kind of location. Neighborhood smart-casual vibe. Highly recommended.

Went here to dine alone and it was enjoyable! Everyone was so nice and the sushi was pretty good. Went with the sake recommended to me by my waitress and it was so good! It's called "The One with the Clocks"

Probably the best value for sushi in Houston, they sometimes have fish that are not very commonly found outside of Japan which is awesome! Everything is tasty and they have a wide selection of dishes to try. Always a great meal here!
They had poisonous gas in the air. There was no way we could stay to eat there. Was a shame too. It’s a good restaurant. But this made zero sense and the management should be ashamed for that even being a thing.

The 1 star review is because of our experience as soon as we walked in the door. We went to celebrate our daughter’s birthday with friends we have not seen in a while. We made a reservation in advance to ensure the start of a nice evening. We arrived and there were a number of people waiting. We made our way through the crowd and approached the hostess stand to check in. Several hostesses and manger or owner were standing there. Upon giving our name, everyone standing there looked disappointed and unsure what to do, as multiple said “oh, there’re here”. A big group standing there waiting to be seated overheard them and also said “they’re here”. We were on time for our reservation, but it was obvious that our table was promised to that other party and it appeared they were about to be seated at our table. Everyone just looked confused…..while we left feeling upset and not welcomed. Obviously the manager or owner noticed the look on our faces and came over to the table and apologized saying they were not giving away our table. The waiter was great and the food was great. I spent 20+yrs in the restaurant industry and I know how competitive the industry is and experience is everything! I always coached restaurants that the customers experience begins before they even walk in the door. They should have been happy we were there, since there are many other choices. The first taste lasts the longest and ours was made to not feel welcomed.

I am truly disappointed.....I just discovered this place! It is a hidden gem. Who would have thought a restaurant of this caliber would be located in a strip center with a Target. It is a MUST if you are a true sushi lover. From the moment my husband and I stepped in the door we were impressed. Then we saw the menu. Sadly we were not able to order everything off the menu, but we did try. Our server, Alex, was on point. He answered all questions without hesitation and was extremely helpful with suggestions based on what we like and what we don't like. If you're a Food Snob, like myself, you'll appreciate the quality, and presentation of the food. As far as the drinks, The Lychee Martini! That's all I need to say about that. This place is simply OUTSTANDING and we're very fortunate to have such an establishment in our neighborhood. I was able to speak with the manager, Jaros about our wonderful experience and expressed our joy of finding it. He was extremely friendly and it was obvious why the establishment, along with the employees, is top notch! Great manager = great employees. The food speaks for itself, but with the proper team it's a win-win situation.To the owner of the BlooFin......We look forward to your Hughes Landing Restaurant. Congratulations on the new location! Thank you for such a wonderful experience!
