We went it to get some salmon, we left with a few different things. The man who helped us was pretty direct, borderline rude. We had hoped to see what fishes are available but there was maybe 4 fish out to see, everything is in the back away from customers. Kind of takes the fun out of trying something new, especially if you’re not sure what you want.

Went here for the first time based on social media reviews and recommendations.Don't let the outside of this business fool you. You won't get higher quality seafood or better service from the owner Lou.We were looking for scallops to go with steak (from Smitty's) but went home with the best dry scallops, freshly made Maryland style crab cakes, and homemade remoulade. 10/10 will recommend this place to anyone that will listen. Can't wait to go back!

I stopped by on Saturday September 30, 2023 and met a very pleasant man-the owner. I purchased a couple crab cakes and some fish. Let me tell you it was the best crab cakes I've had in a long time. Thank you sir, I'll be back ‼️?

To make sure it wasn’t a fluke I waited three weeks and three visits to write this. This place is outstanding and the owner, Joselu Gonzalez, is extremely knowledgeable, helpful and a joy to talk with. So far we have tried the Snapper, Tile, Flounder, Tuna, Ocean Trout, Shrimp, Scallops and Crab cakes and all have been absolutely outstanding. On our first visit Joselu gave us the “tour” explaining his long history in the business, all the different fish he had in that day and had us smell each, NO Fishy Odor. Tell Joselu what you like and he can advise on both the fish and how to prepare it. I found the prices reasonable and the quality better than anything we have obtained from Kroger, Fiesta or H‑E‑B. Last note, the Crab Cakes, WOW. I think these are 99% Crab, no filler and delicious. Pair them with Joselu’s homemade remoulade sauce and you have a real treat. Champions is now a weekly stop for us.

We were driving around Houston looking for dry salted cod (bacalao/bacalhau) and luckily we found Champions Seafood Market in Spring! The owner Joselu Gonzalez is super knowledgeable about seafood and friendly. He has a very large assortment of very fresh seafood and told us if we call ahead next time they will tell us what the freshest shipment of fish they have in. We will be back again soon! If you are in the area and in need of a specific tule of fresh seafood, definitely stop in or call ahead. They are closed on Mondays otherwise call them up any other day or stop in!
