My waiter was Mr. Alfredo. Very courteous & friendly. My order was to go & he made sure I didn't wait a long time. He even gave me a sample of one of the new flavors. It was excellent!

It was my husband's birthday and our 6 kids loved the menu. He loved the free shot with his margarita lol. The food is rich so wear your "get full" pants! ? The service time was average for the number of customers vs. servers, our order was accurate and everyone took home plates because the portions were filling.
My favorite restaurant and salsa! Wish we had more around Houston. Like the east side of town like off market st. Great location already am empty building. Hint hint:)

Service was good and fast for a Friday night. Salsa tasted like hominy with way too much black pepper. The beef fajita was bloody but tender that tasted more like a bland steak than fajitas. The refried beans are a strange orange color and have very little flavor of any kind. We ordered a combination plate with three different style enchiladas so we can try all three. The cheese, beef, and spinach enchilada are not worth mentioning. I would never get them again. In fact I would never come to this restaurant again and would not recommend it. We visit many Mexican restaurants as it's my family's favorite choice of food but El Palenque wasn't a tasty place at all.
If you're a part of the LGBT community, don't waste your time going. At the very beginning of being there me and my friend received weird stares from the staff that was present. The first waiter came off rude for no reason at all beside he had his on personal issues...... if I could rate it a 0 I would but I will be filing discrimination charges against this establishment, for they are very unprofessional.

Gonna start off and throw our server, jose p., ON TOP OF THE BUS. GREAT SERVICE. Very polite. The food was beyond amazing, and, as i have been here more times than i can remember, i know the quality is top notch. And still great tonight. Amazing food,in huge portions, and great drinks too. If you are on te fence about trying this place out, stop thinking, and go. Will NOT be disappointed.2/9/24Service was great. Food is suffering a good bit. Everything was decent but thats about it. Nothing was amazing at all. Kinda sad to say it, but today's visit left me done with the restaurant.
