Wineries near Stephenville

“This off-the-beaten-path winery is a Texas gem. My family and I were returning home from my son's baseball tournament in Stephenville and decided to stop and see what this little winery had to offer. We were greeted by the owner/proprietor, Shelley Fair. Before today I was unfamiliar with the Texas Mustang varietal but was pleased to find that it makes a decent wine. Only two wines comprise the tasting, but the Mustang red and the Mustang/Blanc du Bois hybrid that Shelley is making into her unfiltered wines are a treat. Better than the wine though, is Shelley herself. We probably talked about the origins and history of the Bar Ditch Winery for an hour. If you get a chance while driving through this part of Texas, make this a stop and see Bar Ditch Winery for yourself.“

“Drive worth the visit lol. This winery/vineyard has a brewery too. Tasting room allows a view of vineyard and relaxing outdoor seating, preference either swing chairs, outdoor patio environment or indoor views of vineyard. Choice of 2 glasses (your choice) or 7 they choose from what you say you like. Very good options. And a nice variety of appetizers. Rumor is they are working on expanding to make overnight accommodations. We were invited to join the wine club membership. If only that were something we were looking for. However, might be of interest to someone else.“
