Food here is good or great depending on the day. Service is fair to nonexistent depending on the day. Went today for lunch and eventually left because there was no one at the counter. Even after walking back to the kitchen no one came out. So we left. It could be an amazing place, but it’s not.

it was amazing tonight ! We shared the Admirals Plater an still bought French frys home . everything was deep fried to perfection. The lg shrimp was as good as what we had in Port Aransas .

I am absolutely amazed about these reviews talking about how great this place is with the new management? Friday evening at 8 we ordered through DoorDash as a pickup order. We tried to call the number listed and it went straight to voicemail. Placed the order and my boyfriend went to pickup. He gets there at 8:50 and is told they are closed and their system is shut down already. He starts with saying well DoorDash and your google listing have you open until 10pm on Friday. Manager states because it's new hours and we haven't updated them. My boyfriend then states well our order was placed through DoorDash therefore you have already been paid. The manager states well our fryers have been turned off so you won't get your tomatoes. He says that's fine we will be ok with the Gumbo, Grits and shrimp tacos, reluctantly she fills the order. When he returns I am blown away and say my assumption is that it's Friday night and they want to get out of there. How sad I tell him that the owner of this business probably has no idea what is happening. Fast Forward we decide again we want The Catch Sunday evening (tonight) (we just had our baby across the street at the hospital, live in Georgetown and when we come into Temple, our stop to eat is The Catch) so I look at the hours and call to make sure they are correct. Someone answers (she may have said Juanita?) I ask what time they close tonight she states 9pm. (Great we can visit with our baby in the Nicu and call in our order at 8.) I then ask the lady that answered the phone who the manager was Friday night? After covering the phone and whispering to someone she hangs up the phone. At exactly 8pm I call to place our order and low and behold the phone goes straight to voicemail! My boyfriend says he will just drive over there. He gets there and CLOSED at 8:15. He tells me the same manager is inside the store. How sad that a place with so much potential can be ran into the ground by laziness. I again would bet that the owner has NO CLUE what is happening to his business. I can assure this place is not under good management. Maybe these reviews that state it is so great are the same people or friends of hers that the kitchen manager was feeding for free on October 30 when we came and got a to go order after leaving the hospital.

Went to the catch about 3 months ago and it was a horrible experience. Food was cold, customer service was bad and i never went again but I Decided to give it another try last week and it was delicious and the customer service was great. I’m guessing the new management Is what made my experience so much better plus I loved the free beer!

Placed an order through Favor. I order the gumbo, catfish place with grilled veggies. The good: the catfish was delicious. The bad: the gumbo was lukewarm and thick. You pay the original price for seafood gumbo but it had just sausage in it. You could take the scorch for the burn of the gumbo. It taste as if it was old and they just reheat it. Disgusting is putting it mildly. The "grilled veggies" was just peppers that taste like they were cooked on a dirty stove top and haphazardly thrown in a container, since the outside was stained. If you would send a to- go order out this nasty, I wonder the condition of the restaurant? I promise the health department may need to visit this place....

Easy location for fish. Fast service and very friendly people to assist you. This is Sunday 26Sept,'21. Don't know why there wasn't a line out the door. Free shiner or margarita ( up to 3). Good food

Stopped by because I'm staying in town for a few days. I ordered the shrimp and white fish fried basket, which was delicious and well seasoned. The only reason I have 4 stars instead of 5 was because of the portion. The to go box was mostly filled with fries, I got 2 hush puppies, 2 pieces of white fish and 3 shrimps. I will most likely come back for another plate before I leave:)

Everything tastes good here including the crawfish. Definitely a 5 star joint right down to the service and ill be eating here again for sure!

We showed up near closing time and was still served an excellent meal. I was hoping to try the gumbo but the person taking our order didn't have anything good to say about it. Maybe that was because the person doesn't like gumbo or maybe theirs is not very good? It was hard to tell but I was not ready to roll the dice on my first time to try out The Catch. I got the blackened catfish tacos and was very pleased. The tacos and the fries tasted very fresh and I would order again. The hush puppies were better than I expected. The person I was with ordered the shrimp tacos and the shrimp looked big and tasty. He was very glad that chose to give this place a try. I would recommend and will try it again next time I have the chance.
