Great place to chill with friends at the bar or to catch a quick bite to eat . Sat at the bar today with friends. Bartender, Brenda was awesome!!! Tried the cherry limeade mojito, one with Tito's and one with their botanical gin. They are dangerous..... and of course very delicious. Salsa is very good, they also have several different kinds of sauces to choose from. There was a gentleman walking around during our entire stay, seemed like the manager (reddish shirt and gray hair). Anyway, he seemed quite in tune and was making sure everything was running smoothly. All their food so far has been great. Fast service, cool ambiance. I was a huge Los Hermanos fan but have now switched to Chuy's for our tex mex food cravings.

I have always liked chuys, except the one in Houston off of 249 in Spring area. Horrible! Hubby liked boom boom chicken enchiladas.

I called Chuys ahead to see if me and my friend could sit on the patio with our dogs and they said yes. The female waiters were all super nice and happy to see us but our PROBLEMS came with the 2 male waiters we had. One guy acted like he hated waiting on us and was so unfriendly it was UNCOMFORTABLE. We aren't confrontational so we tried to smile and keep it light saying thank you and trying to be nice. He kept this GLARE on his face the entire time and when we gave us our food he asked in theSTRANGEST way what we thought of it. So strange that my friend asked if I thought he did anything to it when he walked away. She was hesitant to eat it, but I ate it anyways. The other guy came to our table giving us chips and the conversation ended up with him telling us if we wanted more sauce, to do a hand signal. We didn't trust him bc that's just super weird and we looked it up. It was the symbol for a WOMANS GENITALS! fast forward to later that night, I ended up THROWING UP all night, and in the morning I asked how my friend felt and she said she was SUPER SICK as well!! Mind you, I have been coming to Chuys since it opened and have never had a bad experience before these two men waited on us.

This has got to be the WORST service and food I've ever had. My friend and I that went BOTH couldn't stop getting sick all night and so far into the next day! The male waiter was not friendly whatsoever. It was like he was bothered with getting a patio table even though multiple parties were on the patio and there were multiple tables open. We were towards the end of dinner time (about 1.5 hours before closing) and got done at a decent time. It was a long wait for drinks to get refilled... sauces to get refilled when food wasn't out yet... we even had a different waiter come to the table for more chips who started being friendly with us and we honestly AT FIRST wanted our tip to go to him. THEN he was talking about the different sauces and we asked about the white one. He told us and showed us this hand signal with his arms down... thumb touching thumb... pointer finger touching the other pointer finger which we found weird. He said corporate called and said that is the symbol for the white sauce and everyone knows it. My friend and I just smiled and went about our dinner. When leaving, we both looked at each other and thought it was an inappropriate quite odd interaction. When trying to confirm what we thought, we found out it was a vulgar hand signal for a vagina. I'm not sure what that guy was thinking but the whole dinner experience between that guy and our waiter just made us feel uncomfortable. Trying to lighten the mood and show gratefulness we kept saying "thank you" to our waiter, but he glared at us and never acknowledged it. and made it more awkward. As for the food, it was cold and well it got my friend and I sick for well over 24 hours. When paying i asked for a to go drink since I had quite a drive home... we waited around. He began cleaning off another table completely forgetting about us probably wondering why we haven't left yet. We had to ask a female waiter. She sent someone to get him and he finally got it. We still left before closing time.

I have been a big fan of Chuy's for many years. I know prices are going up and sizes are getting smaller, but come on Chuy's?! Really. This is my Chuychanga with boom boom sauce. Fork for scale.Sad.

Had to edit my initial review. Its 50/50. My initial times here have been great, but I had a bad order and was very disappointed by it. I spoke w/ Jacob who comped me a lovely dinner for 2. Upon ordering I was told 20 minutes got there about 15 minutes later. The employ that brought it out was friendly and very personable, but once again the food was ice cold. I had to heat it up because even the cheese inside the enchiladas wasnt melted??? My tacos were literally in pieces ( we ordered the carnitas delux plate) The appitizer had panchos included on it and they were cold, Also no napkins, or plastic ware for the order.... Soooo im thinking I will stick to dining in because their "To Go" team needs to be retrained. For the most part tho the manager tried... I give the resturant in whole 3.5 Stars, but its definantly not the Austin Chuys by Zilker that I know & love...
