Great atmosphere and the bar service was phenomenal.The Wagyu rib eye was cooked properly but severely lacking flavor. Mac and cheese was mediocre as were the taters.Gulf oysters were good but very small.I'd expect better from a $75 meal.To say the least it's pricey only for the sake of looking fancy.

The food was decent. I've had as good of steaks, if not better, at saltgrass/longhorn steakhouse. The key lime pie tasted like it was out of a can. The pros about this place was that our waiter was fabulous, very friendly! And the appetizer lamb was delicious!

Our server Hayden did a great Job and made our experience very special by being so attentive with a great attitude and energy! Today was our 6yr wedding aniversary, we have celebrated our wedding anniversary at Dakotas the past 3yrs now and we are never disapointed by the beautiful atmosphere, great food, and awesome servers! 10/10 Highly recommend.Vegetarian options: Great looking salads and tasty grilled vegetables.Parking: Safe well lit parking, at night the surrounding business parking seems to be fair game, valet on staff always nice cars parked out front.Kid-friendliness: The seating appears to be kid friendly, we saw two well behaved young men there who seemed to really enjoy their meals not a disruption at all.

Searched for best restaurants and this was listed as #2 and much closer so chose it. Not disappointed - steaks were good quality and for first time in MANY steak orders my medium rare was actually underdone (one of group had ordered rare so all got rare). Still good. Server was very efficient and attentive but took one odd action with poor response to my comment - Ordered the listed Austin Hope at good price of $75 and got the unlisted 1 liter bottle at $100 - when I discovered that with bill, his response “Oh, it’s the same price per ml”. Was not given that choice or any consideration. I’m a big tipper - he got less than my usual bigger tip - about $25 less / still over 20%. He’ll never know of course!

While in town and out having a girl's day, my best friend and I wanted a super yummy lunch. When I lived in east Texas I knew the owners & their kids (miss your magic, Tyler) and would have dinner at Dakota's often! It was decided that Dakota's was the perfect choice for lunch and it was an excellent choice! Our server, Hayden, was perfect, great recommendations and explanations of the menu. Wedge salad, delicious. Pecan crusted chicken with wild rice and asparagus was my bestie's choice and she was over the moon. Because I adore a chicken fried steak and had to enjoy some while in Texas, it was my choice. I didn't go wrong! Perfect texture and temperature, creamy whipped potatoes and enormous asparagus, ah, hello Texas!Deciding that we were going to go big or go home, we wrapped up with a shared chocolate lava cake and take away boxes.Dakota's is a definite for lunch or dinner! I am looking forward to my next trip to town!

Ran out of water several times. Bake potato was cold. The butter and cheese would not melt. We ordered medium well steak and it was rare. We asked for steak sauce and the server did not bring it.

It was a little too loud for the intimate quiet dinner we wanted. I wish I had tried something that I don't make at home I make awesome mashed potato and steak. The bread was delicious!!! The martini was fabulous !!

Didn't mind paying for good food and good service, however, when you go to eat at an establishment of this caliber, you expect the food to be absolutely exceptional and nothing less! I ordered Creamed Spinach, and it was delivered to my table cold. IMO, this is unacceptable! Any Chef worth their salt and/or Server expecting a tip of 18-25% has a responsibility to ensure complete quality! My 16 oz. Ribeye was good but chocked full of gristle. I will say that everything else was great to include some of the best fresh Oysters I've ever eaten!

My husband and I were looking for a fine dining experience in Tyler, but this experience fell short. The quality of ingredients seemed great, but the entrées we ordered were subpar. It did not feel that much thought had been put into pairings and flavor combinations on the plate. We were hoping for an experience like Bernard's, when eating from their specials of the night. This felt more like an upscale chain restaurant.

Very disappointed in the quality of the steaks. I got the Cowboy Cut and it had absolutely zero marbling. Tough as leather. My date ordered the Filet. It was tough and chewy. Not what I expected at all and embarrassing for a Valentines meal. I've had much better cuts of meat at much lower price points.

Not the first time coming here. But this time was one of the worst experiences. My filet was over seared around the outside it was to tough to eat. The waitress started out great then fell off quickly. Took someone else to get my drink refilled even though she had asked what I was drinking 5 mins prior. But I'll just chalk this up to a one bad experience vs all the other times we have been here. So will definitely be back and definitely keep referring other to try it out.
