Went yesterday 4/11/23 - it's currently closed for renovations... doesn't give a return date just a sign on the door.

Fish Hook is connected to the Luana Waikiki hotel. The cafe opens early at 7am and serves bfast sandwiches and poke. Poke at 7am sounds like the perfect breakfast to me. The hotel gave us complementary vouchers and we were able to try some poke bowls. They had a lot of different flavors and the portions were decent for the price. Toppings are extra though. Staff is super friendly and helpful when giving recommendations!

The fish hook was right next to our hotel and we received a $30 voucher for staying there - and we were glad we did. The restaurant is super small, only a couple of seats/tables but you can also order and pick up. The food is simple amazing and the staff super friendly! The avocado toast is not only award winning but the best one we every had. They offer freshly baked good from a local bakery as well. Went there every morning we stayed in Waikiki.

Our server John made our breakfast experience amazing. Great food, service, in a cozy atmosphere. We ordered the fried rice breakfast and the ahi poke bowl. Fish was fresh, rice was amazingly good. I will definitely be back here on my next trip!

First off, gotta give 10 out of 10 to Kai and Johnny, both of these fellas are the waiters and are a credit to the industry…very friendly and knowledgeable. I honestly would not have eaten here as often as I did but for Kai. Now the food: omelette is excellent, french toast is excellent, pastries are really good. Bacon and Egg with Cheese and hashbrown Croissant was awful; there is just too much oil/grease in this item. The hashbrown is deep fried (frozen patty) and placed into the sandwich, the bacon is dripping in fat and the Croissant is flattened and browned…Why? The croissants at the Fish Hook are beautiful until they use them in this breakfast sandwich…smashing lovely flaky pastry and grilling the outside makes the sandwich tough and inedible imo. A lot of people love this cafe and they should but sometimes things are not 100%.

Great food. Great service. Very friendly staff. Try the mochi pancakes; good flavour and slightly chewy texture. They do sit-down or take out. If you're in a rush, waiting for your uber, they will toss something together for you to go. They close at 1430, so don't try for a late lunch.

おいしいとんかつFinally, a place in Waikiki that I can enjoy Tonkatsu without the need of a reservation. Came here this morning and decided to come back for lunch. I had the fried rice plate from the breakfast menu and I heard the chef saying "Tonkatsu" to confirm the order. So I guess you can order lunch menu items for breakfast as well. I ate the whole plate of fried rice without taking a picture. I loved the fried eggs on top of the fried rice. Their Tonkatsu is not the mall food court Tonkatsu, it's well plated with salad and rice seasoned with sesame. You can tell the chef's efforts just by the salad dressing. It's a cozy eatery that you can't really see from the street but the service is excellent as well as the quality of the food preparation. I just came back from Japan and their food reminds me of all those extraordinary dining experiences I had there. It's great to hear that they will expand their menu and eventually resume dinner service.

The friendliest staff! I never got his name but the guy taking our order was soooo kind. We had such a good experience here. The poke was great and we will be coming back.
