Was looking for some home cooking and I found it at Sweet Sue's.. I got the meatloaf ,pinto beans and mashed potatoes with brown graveyard yeast roll. It was very good. Meatloaf was a great traditional recipe, baked with tomato sauce. The mashed potatoes were awesome, even had little bits of skins, I like it that way. Gravy was very flavourful and thick. Complmented the spuds just like momma used to. And those pintos were the best I've had since my grandmother passed. Not plain but not too seasoned. Next time I'm near Sweet Sue's I Will Stop Again!! She'll become my Sweet Aunt Sue.

So I'll start by saying I've lived in Tyler most of my life, and have been to sweet sues many times. After today, I will not be going back. Which is a shame, because the waitress was a doll, and I feel bad that she has to work in what is obviously a toxic environment. I ordered the chicken fried steak, which has always been delicious. What they served me today, I'm not even sure if it was real meat. It was disgusting. So I told the waitress, who apologized, and went and got the manager. The manager, sparing the details, was a complete j**** He lied to me, he argued with me, and he refused to comp the price of the food, which I barely touched. Like others have said, Tyler has too many other choices to waste your money here. Sad really..

Sweet Sue’s is a wonderful tradition of over thirty years with the original, classic booths and tables!Breakfast is 7 days a week from 6-10:30am and lunch from 10:30-2:30pm. It is a wonderful family restaurant with a large meeting room in back for Bible studies and business meetings! The food is delicious comfort food with daily lunch specials!Make sure to try the chicken fried steak and King Ranch Chicken!

Terrible lighting. It felt like they didn't even have any lights on inside. Took a while to get my food (only 4 other tables there at the time) and the food was sub par. Looked delicious but Chicken fried steak was not good at all chewy gritty etc salad was WAYY overpriced almost $5 for a monkey bowl but it was the best part of the meal even if it wasnt included it had tomatoes and bell peppers mmm but the cabbage was bland and it was like the roll had been reheated several times by the time it was served to me. I got a pie of coconut pie looked yummy and would have been too if it didn't have the after taste of the fridge yuck!

I loved it I only have one suggestion, Cindy is a great server & very pleasant one request when she take an order have her place the name on the tickets so she doesn't have to come in the dining room and hunt for the person. Thanks, Chef Jackson CEC,AAC

We were a little disappointed and shocked to discover that was no longer all you can eat breakfast buffet and the prices on the menu were a little steep. So we decided to get up and choose a different restaurant that morning

I would definitely say that it is okay. The restaurant was a lot better before the pandemic because there was a buffet, but now the food is overpriced and not worth the money they try to make you pay. The staff is wonderful and they made my experience a whole lot better.

Had a taste for some home cooked food. Stopped by and greeted immediately by a fast, friendly waitress. Ordered the fried pork chop, turnip greens, Lima beans, cornbread and banana pudding. Food was fresh and hot. Everything was delicious. I recommend this place.

They no longer have their buffet for breakfast or lunch . The service was outstanding! The breakfast was just ok but way overpriced sadly. But I'm glad we tried it ...

Sweet Sues is still pretty good home style cooking. My first visit since buffet went away and certainly no fault of theirs. That was some 5 star goodness

Sweet Sue’s is home cooking at it’s best. Food to warm the soul, and the staff to follow through with it. I feel this place is forgotten by too many. Older Tyler generations know them, but younger and new folks should get to know them just as well. Acquaint yourself with them, you will be glad you did! Sweet Sue’s was once a buffet (pre-Covid), now it’s fresh order menu or from their daily specials. My family has frequented here over 30 years. I feel It is even better as a fresh order menu (If that was even possible)! The Daily Specials are on their FB page everyday. They are open 6am with a wonderful breakfast, as well, then moving right into the lunch hours till 2pm 7 days a week.Thank you for providing us with awesome fresh daily home cooked meals. Keep up the good work. Your tyler family iconic restaurant rocks! ??❤️
