Grandy's was the best back in the day. Went for nostalgia on Tues. 3 pc dinner. Godawful. 1130 am and EVERYTHING was cold. Chicken tasted a bit off and the texture was strange. The okra tasted like old grease and I could feel the grease coating it. Taters were mediocre but the gravy. That gravy. It was watery but still tasted burnt. Like it was on the warmer till it got too thick and then they kept thinning it with water rather than make a fresh batch. Did I mention that just before the lunch rush everything was cold? I got it to go and didn't feel like turning around and arguing. It's Mon now and I'm still not a100%. Drove from Houston for that nonsense. Don't know if I can call it food poisoning but six days later and still dealing with it. What would you call it? Definitely not a blessing. If you are thinking along the same lines as I was don't. It's not worth the time, money, or your health.

Wanted to experience Grandy's of old. Bad, sad mistake.I got there for the lunch rush at 11:30 am and it was all cold AND old! The gravy on the taters was watery and still tasted burnt. Like it was old and they kept adding water trying to stretch it out rather than make a fresh batch. The okra was even older and colder. No crunch and no flavor. The chicken itself tasted like a reheat from days ago but how can that be? Cause straight from the heat lamps it was barely room temp. Not even a little crunchy,an off flavor and and even the texture was very off putting. Couldn't even eat it all and had the feeling I made a big mistake but hoped for the best but got the worst. I went on a Tues and immediately realized I made a HUGE mistake. It's Sunday now and I'm just starting to feel normal again.Houston to Victoria for what can only be described as food poisoning and I couldn't even enjoy the taste if it. If you're thinking of driving down there for nostalgia's sake I'd advise against it. Not worth the trip, price, quality or your health.

First time I went. The chicken was crunchy but moist inside. Everything was delicious. Definitely will go again.
Dropped in on my way to Corpus Christi to catch some home-cooked food only to discover they were out of chicken!! If chicken is your biggest seller, how can you run out!!?? Very disappointed!
I put 5 stars for the rolls and seasonal pot roast alone. Please make it year round

Best fried chicken, hands down!! We wish they still had one in our town. We drive all the way to Victoria just for Grandy's. We highly recommend their chicken fried steaks, fried chicken, mashed potatoes, fries, and rolls.

Chicken and pork chop were old and dry. The cole slaw was not great, and the country fried steak tasted like old used oil. The saving grace was the mashed potatoes and gravy which were delicious but sadly not good enough to make me want to return.
