I grew up eating Shipley's donuts. However this location S U C K S! If you drive thru expect the RUDEST service. It's happened every time I've went there and this has been multiple occasions as well. Finally I'm posting my review. Yes, the donuts/kolaches are good, but not good enough to have someone take your money and bark at you. I don't like going to any establishment where they are "doing you a favor for giving them your money". No manners on the employees. One occasion in particular this lady was really rude that they only take cash when I tried to hand her my card. Obviously I wasn't aware since it wasn't posted ANYWHERE! I honestly won't be a patron of this place EVER again.

So I have the argument often with folks from Austin about the best donuts. And I even argue with myself as well being that I currently live in Rhode Island and they have a joint called Allie's Donuts. But when I get the opportunity to come home to Texas and can get into Shipley's for those hot, fresh plain glazed donuts, I am reminded why Shipley's reigns supreme. Sure maybe RR has the best chocolate, but I don't eat those. And lets face it, plane glazed is really the true measure of a donut.
