Very rustic coffee shop with lots of nooks and crannies for sitting and hanging out. The atmosphere is very inviting and fun. The service was nice and the coffee was good. A worth while stop for those passing through and excellent choice for those looking for a place to chill.

My go-to place for quality coffee drinks when in Waco. Plus the atmosphere is an added benefit. When the weather is nice out, there is outdoor seating in the back and there are cozy places inside as well for all year-round. Their secret sauce in the drinks is superb! Plus they always offer some sort of seasonal drink menu so check those out, they are always well worth it! Can’t go wrong with Common Grounds!Parking: Lot is in the back behind Common Grounds, accessible by the service road or next to the UPS Store, pay attention to signs, there is also street parking.

Came here early morning during spring break and many customers (Baylor students I guess) were there. Got cold brew and a drip coffee ("cast iron blend") and also banana bread and lemon blueberry bread (had wanted tacos but they were not available). Liked both the drinks and the bread (loaf cake). Noticed the lable on the bread said "Heritage Creamery", which is the ice cream shop next door, and wish we had had a chance to go there too. Atmosphere was welcoming and pleasant; where we sat, furniture and deco gave a cozy hunting-lodge sort of feel, though alltogether it was as if the space was a house and not a cafe. The staffers were helpful and friendly.

Wish they had more sugar free syrup offerings. Would be an inexpensive way to include a growing segment of customers who are avoiding sugar. And we are GRATEFUL when businesses say "Yeah we have lots of SF flavors!"Dietary restrictions: Currently only have sugar free vanilla syrup.

The place itself is beautiful and an amazing place to go with friends for the atmosphere. But every time I get an iced drink, it's watery, hot chocolate? Watery. Tea? Watery. The coffee itself isn't the best coffee you'll find, but it's alright. I feel like for how small it is, you shouldn't be paying 8 dollars for something that's basically a 6oz large drink.I'd say support local businesses, but every time I come in, the employees are just gossiping. They don't really seem to care about their customers, not even a fake smile or a "how are you" just "What do you want, here's the total" goes back to gossiping. I'd rate the customer service if I ever even got customer service. Unfortunately, I never do. The one across the street from the Bear Habitat is even worse with customer service. If you're on campus and need a place to study and get a quick drink, I'd recommend it, but if you're just visiting and looking for a local coffee shop with really good drinks and friendly employees? Try somewhere else.I'd like to mention that I didn't just have one bad experience and am giving it a bad review.I've been more than 5 times before classes (because there's not really many other choices on campus) and never got any customer service. I've gotten multiple different drinks from Chai and Matcha to Their iced coffees. It all comes out bland and very similar tasting. The best thing I'll say is their Banana Bread is the only good desert in their desert case (I've tried the others and they're usually just reallt dry), and I've heard their burritos are really good but for the price and the size I haven't been interested in spending money on it. Especially since there's only really meat options.

Was recommended to stop here by a friend to get a cowboy coffee. We ended up getting the “No Bull” drinks and agreed that they were some of the best coffees we ever had. Our service was great and if I went to Baylor this would be my hangout spot for sure. I’ll be dreaming about another coffee from here for days!

Common Grounds in Waco has been an integral part of my Baylor experience, offering not just a cup of coffee, but a warm, cozy, and personable atmosphere that's both fun and inviting. As a beloved local spot next to the Baylor Campus, it's the smaller yet equally charming counterpart to the other Common Grounds locations. What makes this place truly special is its unique vibe that combines a comfortable setting with an eclectic touch. Whether it's meeting friends or taking a short walk off campus for a top-notch coffee, Common Grounds never disappoints with its quality and friendly environment. An interesting aspect of this coffee shop is its history with the local community. It's a longtime favorite among locals and students alike, known for its great coffee and relaxed setting. This place isn't just a coffee shop; it's one of Waco's most popular intimate concert venues, adding a lively dimension to its already vibrant atmosphere. They even have an association with one of the Season 2 renovated houses from a famous TV show, where the episode featured Chip eating a cockroach - but rest assured, that's not part of the coffee shop experience! Moreover, Common Grounds stands out with its cowboy-themed drinks, like the 'No Bull,' made with their renowned sweet and caffeinated Secret Sauce. It's this combination of great drinks, addictive atmosphere, and the joy of live music that makes Common Grounds a go-to spot not just for Baylor students but for anyone seeking a quality coffee experience in Waco.Every visit to Common Grounds has been memorable, making it an indispensable part of my time at Baylor. It's more than just a coffee shop; it's a hub of campus life, a place where conversations flow as smoothly as the coffee.Vegetarian options: Common Grounds caters to various dietary restrictions, offering milk alternatives for lactose-intolerant patrons and a range of beverages that suit different dietary needs. While the focus is primarily on coffee and beverages, vegetarians might find limited food options here. It's a great spot for coffee lovers with dietary restrictions, but vegetarians looking for a meal might need to explore other dining options in the area.Dietary restrictions: Common Grounds caters to various dietary restrictions, offering milk alternatives for lactose-intolerant patrons and a range of beverages that suit different dietary needs. While there may not be a dedicated parking lot for the coffee shop itself, nearby campus parking provides ample spaces. It's advisable to plan for a short walk from the parking areas to the coffee shop.Kid-friendliness: Common Grounds provides a welcoming atmosphere for families with children. The relaxed and friendly environment makes it a suitable place for parents to enjoy a coffee while their kids are nearby. However, it's important to note that the space is more tailored to a college crowd, so it might not have specific amenities for young children.Wheelchair accessibility: In terms of accessibility, Common Grounds is mindful of inclusivity. The main areas of the coffee shop are wheelchair accessible, ensuring that everyone, regardless of mobility, can enjoy their time here. However, it's always best to check in advance for any specific accessibility needs, especially during busy hours or events.
