Two people eating: same steaks ordered and supposedly prepared the same. One was full of fat and inedible. The other was overcooked. Asked for baked potatoes. Was asked if wanted loaded potatoes. Supposed to have butter, sour cream and cheese and bacon. One was swimming in butter and barely had sour cream. The other one was dry and same small amount of toppings. The corn tasted like wax and was severely overcooked. My elderly companion asked for her steak to be cut and they sent the manager over to tell her that it was against policy for the cook to cut it but they would cut it into strips and I had to cut it up for her to eat it. Beer was warm and it advertised as a steak house but it's a glorified Mexican restaurant that serves bad steak

Updating review to 5 stars since the salsa is just like Papa Bears had it at the old location. This is my go-to place for breakfast burrito with chips & salsa with a sweet tea!Carolina is the best waitress, but they are all good too!Parking: Don't park at the bank or they will tow your car!

Had breakfast that morning and it was great. Pancakes, eggs, sausage and hashbrowns. They have a good chef. Our waitress was super friendly and took good care of us. Nicely priced meals too.

The outside may look forgettable, but inside this local haunt is serving up scratch-made texas country classics in texas sized portions that your tastebuds won't forget. Imagine if Texas Roadhouse made good food, and that's the reality at Jon Lillies.Went on a Thursday for dinner. TL;DR is if you are in the mood for a Texas country dish like a loaded spud, ribs, or chicken fried steak, this is one of the best places to get it in Waco.**Pricing** You can get fancy, but you can also get a cheese burger with fries for $7.50, which is literally cheaper than Whataburger.**Food** Everything was spot-on with freshness, taste, and quality.**Ambiance** Pleasant and tasteful, but casual. Country chic is the best way to describe it.TIPS:Parking can be challenging and they say the bank tows, but there's a big lot to the side of the building next to wine shop.

As always the steaks were absolutely delicious, only negative would be the macaroni and cheese was ice cold

By far one of the best placrs to eat at in WACO, TX. From food to Sweet Tea and service love it!!!!!!
Chips and salsa/queso were very good. I had the smoked brisket enchiladas, folks had the ribs and shrimp tacos, all yummy. Warning: kids steak fingers are breaded country fried steak with gravy or something, not at all what my kid(6yo) was expecting. They agreeably exchanged for chicken tenders. He liked the French fries.

We had delivery service and it was fast and they were friendly. The food was exemplary and we especially enjoyed the catfish tacos! My sister and I wanted it again the next day.

Save your money and your time. Go somewhere else. The food is bland. Service was horrible. We waited 20 minutes for our waiter to ask what we wanted to drink (7:30 pm on a Thursday - not busy). The rest of the experience was the same. The only positive was their ranch and Mac and cheese. That's it.
The food is really good
