If you’re looking for more authentic and better tasting Indian food, just go to Saffron. The service at this place is a joke. Staff were yelling at each other with customers present. Food takes an hour to get served and the naan was somehow cold when it finally came out. It blows my mind how people think the food here is edible. Don’t waste your time with this place. It’s a joke.Edit: The restaurant responded calling my review "fake" because I posted this while they are temporarily closed, so let me clarify that I ate here a year ago and decided to leave a review after trying other Indian places in Waco. The maturity of the restaurant management really shows when they start their response with "Hate to tell you" and proceeds to call a bad review "fake."

Stopped to eat on my lunch break. Service was slow, which I get, there were only 2 employees working. However, food wasn’t very good. I ordered mild and it was extremely spicy. I also asked to sub the naan bread for veggies (can’t eat gluten) and was charged $2.00 for a few raw carrots, onions and a tiny piece of pepper. Super disappointing. Not interested in returning to eat.

I’ve eaten here twice already (through Uber eats) and each time has just be been better than the last! I missed authentic Indian food and the wait is completely worth it. Everything always tastes fresh and homemade and the tikki masala with chicken is sooo good! I love dipping the garlic naan in the sauce as well. I just ordered again as I’m doing this review lol ☺️

First time here, definitely not the last. The food was absolutely wonderful. The samosas were spiced wonderfully, my wife got the butter chicken and loved it, I had the biryam special and would order again instantly. The open kitchen is really cool and we loved watching the Naan being made.

The food was super delicious and worth the wait. The owner is knowledgeable and friendly. People complaining about wait times should go try fast food. This is home cooked, hot, and fresh authentic food!! Highly recommended!!

We arrived at 5:30 pm. We placed our order not knowing there was no cook on duty! Ten minutes later he showed up (on call perhaps?). The bill was over $40 for two simple common dishes of naan, rice and a few pieces of chicken and iced tea. The atmosphere consisted of brick walls, a concrete floor and industrial grade rusty steel tables. Overall, a very disappointing experience.

The food is very good! I love to get the authentic spice. So delicious. The service honestly is pretty bad though the owners seem kind of mean and will see you and not help you for awhile. I've seen them yelling at one of their chefs for no reason.

Had a weird experience with this place. When we arrived the restaurant was almost empty but it was pretty clean and nicely decorated. We went to the counter and a woman told us someone will be with us shortly. She then came back after a few minutes and apologized and said that there is no cook at the restaurant so no one can prepare us food... It was like 2PM on a Saturday when this happened. The supposed cook then walked into the restaurant and the woman said "oh there's the cook"... it was pretty odd, the woman was nice but the whole interaction was odd so we just left. I have no idea if the food was good

Popular Indian food restaurant in down town Waco on the courthouse square. Friendly helpful service (Indian counter person who knows the menu). Choice of “heat/ spiciness”. I like their butter chicken but today tried lentil makhani over rice - Umm.

The chicken saag is so delicious that I don't even mind that the total never rings up the same. They should probably fix the prices on the menu but holy smokes, it's easily best meal I've ever had in my 23 years of living. Love this place!

Don't miss out on this one! Absolutely fantastic food every time we come. The food is made fresh to order and is outstanding. Everyone is always super friendly and the atmosphere is always chill. Give these guys a shot. You won't be disappointed!

The owner is super cool and has no problem explaining any of the items on the menu and can give good recommendations. The marsala chai is fresh made with lots of ginger that makes it just a touch spicy, I generally like mine with less sugar but I still would recommend getting it!The mango lassie is really good and they have more flavors to choose from! The restaurant is very nice, i love the front patio with a great view of the historic court house. there is a really neat mural going towards the back of the restaurant that looks like you are stepping back into another time and place. The Indian styled door is a unique mural and the touches give the place a modern meets historically traditional in the little town of Waco. I love it!The patio is pet friendly

I used to come here all the time and it was one of the best places to eat in Waco, what happened??? They were out out of all their cold drinks, out of several dishes, they'd stopped offering some of their dishes (but left them on the menu), and neither of the guys working knew how to make Masala chai tea. The mango lassi is nothing like it used to taste. Food quality is still high, and portions are large, but it took 39 minutes to get after ordering; it never used to take so long! And I watched as other people came in, ordered after me, but got their food before me! And no, that was not someone picking up an online order. Worst of all, I got really bad food poisoning immediately after eating here and spent the rest of the day in a bathroom. Please update your menu, train your staff better, and do something about running out of ingredients. I used to love coming here but now it just makes me sad ?

This place was amazing! The staff were super friendly and chatted with us for a while. I'd never had Indian food before and it was amazing from start to finish. We got some tea, the sampler and order of butter chicken, and it was all some of the best food I've ever had. I particularly liked the rice, and the sampler platter, but it was all delicious!

The restaurant had good ambiance but the cost was very high. They had different price on the menu they charged really on the bill. Chicken biryani had only vegetables. I paid $35 for nothing.
