Great family restaurant and the history of the property is awesome! All of our food was amazing and the service was awesome! A must visit in Waxahachie!

Fabulous! We had heard wonderful things, and it absolutely lives up to its reputation. Priscilla was fantastic, the food was amazing, the ghost stories are fascinating, and the house is absolutely beautiful. Waxahachie is lucky to have such a unique gem; we'll absolutely be back.

The food was great but I cant say enough about our waitress Priscilla. We haven't seen service like that in a long time. Great job Priscilla! Thank you for your hard work and service.

We really enjoyed our first visit to Catfish Plantation! The old house location is super quaint, and the ghost stories associated with the location add a fun and spooky air as well. The food and service were both great! The Cajun-style catfish was absolutely delicious, as was the bread pudding! We will definitely be back, and would recommend to anyway visiting Hachie.

We visit here everytime we're in Waxahachie. They have some of the best catfish we've ever eaten especially with the spicy Cajun seasonings.

The plantation itself was very nice, however our service was not the best. We were squeezed at this tiny table with close contact with other people, I couldn't even hear my husband when he was talking to me. The food was ok, but disappointed in the sides. No Mashed Potatoes to have with friend chicken??Our waitress took for ever to get our order and my husband ask for a refill on his sweet tea 2 times and he still never got it. To me, the staff seems alittle off stable. Employees need to know more about the surroundings and not seat people so close together and the servers need to communicate better with their customers.

This was a very uncomfortable, poor service, bad food restaurant. I would not recommend now will I ever go back. I realize it's in an old historic house, but the chairs were wobbly and the table was so close to a fake fireplace I had to have one foot on the Hearth and one on the floor. I was charged $4 for a cold cup of coffee and offered no refills. I had the quail. Which I know quail has a small amount of meat but the quail had no meat. Maybe it was not fed well. My friend got the teriyaki pineapple Maui Maui because the picture looked so good but her piece had maybe 3 small bites the piece was so small and it was not teriyaki and had no pineapple. Her portion of rice was less than her portion of fish. Maybe 2 teaspoons worth. Overpriced for the food, service and atmosphere.

Catfish Plantation is a hidden gem that is cozy and quaint. The staff was friendly and very attentive. We decided to order several dishes because honestly we had a hard time picking just one. My absolute favorite appetizer was the meat pies. We ordered one of each and split it. Both were absolutely delicious. The portions are very generous, but you'll want to save some room for dessert. I tried the bread pudding and hubby ordered the peach cobbler. The bread pudding was warm, sweet, and yummy!!If you're ever in Waxahachie, I would definitely recommend popping in for a bite.

What a wonderful historical little treasure.Excellent southern hospitality and cuisine. The gator bites were so tender, the best we have tried yet. The chicken fried steak was the best we have had in a long time.A must visit restaurant!

Ordered the 3 PC. Catfish platter. The Catfish was extremely disappointing. The breading was chewy, and lacked flavor overall, even the cajun seasoned Catfish fell very flat. The fried okra was the only redeeming aspect of the food. Not worth $18 for decent fried okra. My first experience here most likely my last.

We have been to the Catfish Plantation throughout the years. We enjoy the historic atmosphere and the delicious food. We just want to mention that Jennifer, our server, made our visit this last time exceptional. She was extremely friendly and helped us with our orders. She also shared some ghost stories that made it even more exciting. Our food was delicious as expected. We will be back.

Catfish is delicious, okra is cooked really well, atmosphere is pleasant and clean. Didn't meet any of the local ghosts, but the service was excellent, and the food was good.

I grew up going to this place, so it pains me to rate them so low. I haven't eaten here in over 4 years, and the quality/freshness has gone down. The portions have gone down as well, however the prices have gone up. The fried okra was the best thing on my plate. Black eyed peas were under seasoned. Catfish was small and over cooked. Rolls were fried? I don't recall that in the past, but I'm not a fan of greasy fried rolls. $17 for a blah meal does not sit well with me.

Catfish tasted as if it was cooked the day before and microwaved. The same for the shrimp. The deviled crab was like a fried ball of mush and was very bland. I really hate to say it but it was the worst meal I have purchased out in years. Will never return.
