Can't express how DISAPPOINTED I AM. Today is my birthday and I chose to eat at one of my all-time favorite places. Service was slow but efficient. The food was excellent as always. We actually had a late lunch during Happy hour. I ordered 2 specialty margaritas (during Happy hour) at this point I'm going to say I do not and have not gone to a restaurant in quite sometime probably around a year year and a half. Its just not cost effective in today's ungodly prices but again today is my birthday so I chose El Fenix. Beside a the slow service (was really going to chalk that up to an off day but) when we got the check and I saw the margaritas were not happy hour prices I was a little surprised and asked for a manager so I asked her do you make it clear to your patrons what drinks are happy hour and which ones aren't? She said the waitress should have let me know. She the waitress did not. then I proceeded to tell her I would have never ordered what I did had I known it wasn't on Happy hour and honestly I've never a day in my life heard of restaurants putting some drinks on happy hour but not all drinks. To my surprise she did not even offer to take one of my drinks off my check. I will not be back to this location. I will definitely go to Dallas where the service speaks for itself. Oh and on the way out got a look at the return air vents and they are absolutely filthy. Be mindful of where you sit I would hate for a big old ball of dust to fall in your food. Just gross to say the least. I've worked in the restaurant business several times over my fifty six years and all of this is totally UNEXCEPTIONABLE PERIOD.

I had a good experience with the food, butI have an observation:Friday afternoon, an American manager asked her name, Robin, she treated one of her employees badly. It was the first time I went to eat at the Fenix in Waxajachie and I was left with a very bad impression. Before, I had gone to the other restaurant. fenix and without any problem

Just left the restaurant without eating or ordering. Was seating in the back, an older couple was sitting with their menus and we waited patiently. Three other parties were seated in our during the ten minutes we waited. No server, no drink order and no chips. Finally just left extremely disappointed. Enjoying our dinner at El Mexicano Grill with no issues whatsoever. Sad to see such a fine restaurant deteriorate to this.

I love the veggie avocado enchiladas. Food was great, service was great and super fast. My aunt and I were out within 35 minutes because we had somewhere to be. And their chips and salsa are the best!

Terrible customer service, this waitress is something else, she all I told her was my order wasn't what it said on the menu ? and she had the nerves to tell me because they are so busy maybe if I come on the weekends the food would be cook to order the right way. She didn't ask to correct my order ?. She just took my plate and never came back...Never again will I visit this place.
