Acceptable, but nothing special. Nice people took good care of their hungry gringos - we left very full. My wife didn't especially care for her 5 taco plate (12.5), said the trompo was just the pastor and the barbacoa was just wet meat. I had the cheese quesadilla (11.5) and enjoyed it thoroughly. You grab some tortilla chips in a little popcorn bag after ordering at the counter and head over to the salsa counter for a variety of salsas, pico, chopped onions, cilantro, and curtido (!). I enjoyed their curtido immensely, the wife not so much. We opted for refried beans with our plates and were impressed - very flavorful. The rice not so much. Ups: nice people, decent food, and open late. Downs: spare dining area (plastic utensils, picnic napkins), and a bit pricey for what we got. I've got at least 5 other little places like this to try, so as acceptable as it was, it may be a while before I return.Vegetarian options: You're out of luck here if you're vegan - very limited for vegetarians - you knew this when you got a hankering for Mexican.

Was ok... Nothing special really. Won't be clamoring to come back. They actually had about 65% of the things they showed on their menu. No diet sodas. No birria tacos and only a few chips. The food was above average and the portions were hearty on the other hand.

The food prices are too high for what you get not a good restaurant to eat.

The Staff was taking a break before the dinner rush sitting at a table when we arrived, possibly watching the game and drinking beer. As others have mentioned certain menu items were not available to be ordered, very disappointing. The young man taking our order apologized for the inconvenience, we should have left but wanted to give it a try. The refrigerators behind the counter did not have much of a drink selection. The portion sizes were small but had decent flavor. The Cortadillo plate had a lot of water on it, as if water had been added before being placed in a microwave to be reheated. The meat and rice was swimming in water. I had been looking forward to a nice Cortadillo, but NO! The Salsa bar was not bad but needed some fresh restocking. The chips did not have a fresh taste, maybe leftover from the day before. The Charro beans had a good flavor but again small portion size. We doubt that we will be back because of the lack of menu items.Parking: Plenty of parking. Level and no pot holes. Handicap accessible. Be careful not to burn you hands when opening the door. The afternoon sun heats up the handles.

The service was good, but the food was beyond bland, particularly the chicken. But literally everything was bland, unfortunately.

My family and I came here for dinner and at first I wasn't into eating Mexican food but Jesse D. was great! My family has food allergies and he was helpful and steered un in the right direction! The food was Amazing, I've eaten at other Mexican restaurants and they're just nah, but here at La Nortenita, they worked hard to make the flavors work together beautifully! Thank you to Jesse D. for all the help and we will definitely be back!

The food is not bad (not great either), however half of their menu wasn't available or only available on weekends. It was literally around 6pm and they ran out of "trompo" meat, We also asked the cashier if we could have more chips since they had run out on the self-serve container, she replied she would have to go back and make more, which she never did. Honestly, just go somewhere else unless you are absolutely hungry.

My new favorite taco spot. The barbacoa tacos are the best. Unless you go on a day when tlaquepaque is on the menu. You can't go wrong either way.
