the Kalypso roll is advertised as having?. Had I known this meant only <40% of pieces had ?, I wouldn't have ordered it.Staff was friendly, miso & ponzu I had was good although the soup was lukewarm.I hate the booths on the right side of the restaurant (from entrance) because the seats are too low or the tables are too high for the seats. Table is at my chest!

Just came to dine in for lunch and was greeted like I was at cici’s pizza. My server Laura did an outstanding job and was very attentive. The manager on duty was very nice and funny. The one with the glasses and colored eyes. Overall great experience. Food was also delicious.

I would like to start off by saying my server was very sweet. She did nothing wrong. However we waited over half an hour for food just for them to add mayo on top. This seems to be a consistent issue at Kumori. Please stop putting mayo on top for those with sensitivities, allergies, or those who do not consume dairy/eggs. Not vegan friendly. This is probably an issue at a chain level and not this specific location but the menu is incredibly long and overwhelming and very little to no simple single ingredient makis are available.Hopefully Kumori gets with the times because the sushi is good when it isn't covered in mayo. There are a lot of problems with this franchise as a whole.

I thought back & fourth about writing this review. The food is mostly good when done properly. I don’t think the Kumori staff can appreciate that this is the only legitimate restaurant where you can get fresh sushi rolls (as it is meant to be fresh) unless you are willing to make a long drive to either McAllen or Harlingen. The few times I go in which is rare the staff seems to be on the spectrum, I won’t repeat what many other 1 star reviewers have already said. As of late I order for take out, when I make a call it takes almost forever to get someone to answer. When I do I have to be loud & firm so they can get my order correct which is a bit of a hassle.I love the gyoza dumplings but the prices I pay for the 5 small pieces especially when I order x2 are outrageous! You to be upfront how you want them cooked I asked for them steamed but they occasionally fry them which I do not like, when I get them to go they never seasoned them with green onions or chili powder unless you tell them seems like you only get that when you dine in. Funny how I can go to dollar general & pay $6 for 30+ pieces of frozen mini dumplings but yet for that same amount I get cheated by Kumoris dumplings.I hate to keep bringing up pricing. Yesterday sin was the one that snapped me… I had sent a friend of mine to pick up an order on my behalf what should have been a $25 tops order ended up being over $30 one kanki roll & one fire cracker roll… Yes I added 2 more ingredients but it shouldn’t have piled up the way it did. For that amount I expect to have all my sides items. I had asked the girl over the phone to include 2 cups of ginger 1 cup of wasabi & 2 cups of spicy mayo. When I sent my friend I told him to make sure they included the sides. When he got back he assured me they told him that all the sauces where there. When I untied the bag I only had one full cup of ginger slices the other cup had one small piece & they didn’t pack my 2 spicy mayo ?Going back to place is like being in a toxic relationship. After reading other people review complaints I’m glad to know I am not the only one who feels this way about the service that this restaurant provides. When is there going to be some real change & action to address these concerns? Because from I have seen from these copy & paste responses from Kumori service teams nothing is actually being done to do better because they are still making the same mistakes. At this point I am hoping that a new entrepreneur will join in on the Japanese food industry within the Donna/ Weslaco area & give them some legitimate competition in service & fair pricing.

The food was just not it, Would highly recommend to go dine at the McAllen location, this location does not taste the same as the one in McAllen. The service was good, but the food was not our expectations. The atmosphere inside is not it either. Only came to this location since I was not wanting to go to McAllen due to traffic hour, but never again.Kid-friendliness: they do not let you order the chicken nuggets just the entree, they make you order the whole (5) nuggets with the white rice.

The food is delicious, but they should have more staff and better waiters. They bring you the food and then they don't come back to ask if everything is okay. You have to go to them to get what you need. I saw how customers were leaving because they didn't attend to them on time.

The food is good. The only exception is when we order crab we expect all crab. The sea legs that are used in the sushi are mostly fish. These are not 100% crab. Just fake "crab." We enjoy everything else. Do wish the staff stayed employed for longer periods of time. thanks for the service! !Vegetarian options: The rice mixtures and the sushi is able to be vegetarian. In the future gluten-free will need to be listed.

The food is fineI ordered take out and they charged me for every single sauce. No complimentary sauce with any roll, and they fill up the sauce containers 1/3. If you’re going to charge for sauce, fill up the container. The person at the register also expected a tip. I would have tipped if I wouldn’t have placed my order through a robot and had not been charge extra for every single sauce or would have at least gotten full containers of sauce.
