“Best apple fritters in America. We tried this place two years ago and loved it. We were driving through the state on a road trip. The place was so good we literally stopped at 4 different donut shops around the area trying to find this place again. We found it, and we'll worth it. Locally owned, we got about 15 apple fritters between a buddy and me for the road trip. Excessive, I know. But they are that good!“

“Alden was so sweet when helping me and my friends this morning. He misheard the name on the order, and asked again to make sure he got it right. My friend’s name is always spelt wrong and no one cares to fix it, but Alden did. He also made a point to ask what the occasion was, and asked about where me and my friends were going for a bachelorette party and congratulated my friend. It was a breath of fresh air to have a Starbucks employee seem like they really like their job and aren’t miserable, something that is rare for me when going to Starbucks. The coffee was great and our drive-thru experience was speedy. Thank you Alden for a big smile and great conversation! I definitely recommend this Starbucks for those passing through!“

Since I was also trying to find it, we eventually connected and I had my phone returned. “The tea house is a hidden gem, in that it quietly resides inside the Homestead Gristmil. It's a fun and unique place to enjoy a cup of tea with a friend. A great rendezvous point. And, if you want to enjoy a cup of tea next to an old working water-wheel-powered mill, this is the place. Fun.“
“A place I visit regularly.Drinks: the coffee is roasted on the premises and either sold in bags or as drinks. There is a good variety of drinks with pour-overs, loose leaf teas, matcha and chai. I recommend the Black Rooster or the White Fredo. The prices are a bit high but keep in mind that things there are usually artisan, home made, and they have to cover costs.Atmosphere: very calm. It is a place where you can chill for hours whether indoors or outdoors under the shade. The ambient music provides good background noise.Seating: several booths with outlets for charging as well as chairs and tables.WiFi: Excellent. Enough said.Misc: the staff is very courteous and will treat you professionally. The restrooms are nice and clean. They also sell coffee presses, merch and chocolates. Once you’re done with the coffee you have a whole community to explore!“
“Smoking Buns is an amazing find. We live in Temple so it's a bit of a drive to West, TX but, absolutely worth the wait. I have learned in my time that you should never pass up restaurants because of their appearance or the surrounding area. That said, from the parking lot, you can smell that there is an amazing BBQ meal awaiting you. The inside decor is very inviting and feels like home. Ordering was a breeze and the service was great. I got their sliced brisket sandwich with a side of onion rings. The brisket was very good but when you add some of their BBQ sauce it becomes so good that y'all will order more. We plan to visit Smokin' Buns at least monthly!! Highly recommended!!“
