I'm a regular here and I cannot sing enough praise about the tacos here, especially the tacos al pastor. The marinade, the corn tortillas, the beans, the rice, the chips, and the salsas all taste incredibly fresh, traditional, and homemade (be careful if you're sensitive to heat, especially with the salsas). The staff here are kind, attentive, and always happy to chat with their customers. These are genuinely the best tacos in Wichita Falls and it's not even close.

The inside was smaller than I expected, not a lot of tables/seating. It's a come in, order at the counter, seat yourself kinda place. I wished there would've been pics of the food, as I like to get a visual before I pick what I'm eating. The food came out fast, and they were very generous portions. Loved the assortment of salsas they brought out with chips (green was my fave). I ended up just choosing cheese enchiladas, but BOY were they the spiciest I've ever had!! The red sauce on top was no joke! Rice & beans had great flavor. I sampled my mom's chicken quesadilla and wished I'd picked that instead--amazing!

LONG post because I'm perplexed at the previous ratings. I'm not sure where to start here, except I am Mexican food's biggest fan, and of El Rodeo, I am not. I am all for mom and pops, young entrepreneurs, and grinders, and I was looking forward to this non-chain place. I attributed the unfinished paint job on the walls as opening quickly, but it should have been my first clue. No ice for your drinks. And maybe it was just what I ordered that stunk..literally. Cheese enchiladas should be straightforward, you would think. Only red or green sauce for topping was available. When the waiter/only person in the place put it in front of me, it smelled so bad that my husband could barely sit next to me. I thought, maybe it's full of goat cheese. But, it smelled so pungent like vinegar. I tried to eat some because I HATE sending food back. I just couldn't stomach it, so I asked the waiter if they used goat cheese. No. So I said, "vinegar?" Yes! They use vinegar in the cheese enchiladas to make the cheese stick together better." Ok.. by this time, my mouth was drawing and I couldn't mask it with hot sauce or onion. I told him I couldn't eat it, and to please remove it, almost a full plate. He said he couldn't refund my money. I told him that was not right of them, but it didn't matter, I couldn't swallow the vinegar. Later he came back and said "they asked do you want anything else." "No, thank you." At this point, I'm aggravated and wanting to gargle with mouthwash. He finally came back and told me "they said to take it off of your bill." I hate that I had this experience here, because I want local shops to make it in our city! And I get the cost of food and people who waste it, especially these days. I even understand that they charged us for chips without being up front about it. But I can't comprehend vinegar in cheese enchiladas that lingered for hours after only a few bites, and then telling me they wouldn't refund my money, well, ok then. I will never return. I do want to say the only person we saw and delt with was nice. I don't leave this as a rant, only as a warning not to go on blindly like we did. I hope they make it, but I'm not sure how they will.

The guy at the counter was very friendly. The food was good but way too spicy for me. But I am a wimp with spice. The price seemed a little high for lunch. The salsa, three of them that you get with chips, were great, just spicy!

We had the barbicoa and al pastor street tacos which were really good. The salsa selection that they brought out was fun to try. One was a little hot ? for me but was delicious.
