Jefes is usually a pretty solid experience. The food is good, the ambience is okay, and the cocktails could are good. Overall this is not a bad local Mexican restaurant. Chips and salsa are good as well.

Tried this place for the first time today and I gotta say I found my favorite Mexican restaurant in town!! Ladies that were working were very nice and friendly! The food was absolutely fantastic! Got chicken enchiladas with the spicy green verde sauce and one in sour cream sauce and a coconut house margarita! Was all great!! Thanks for the awesome lunch!!!

I come from Dallas to see my family often. We really enjoy this place. Great food, and the staff is always friendly. Even when it's packed, and people are a little irritable. It really is a great family owned place.

This review comes after several experiences over the past year, most recently in person on the day before Valentines day. Most easily remedied, put a bell on the door. Your hostess had no idea we entered and were waiting to be seated for at least 5 minutes. Now for the worse: my cheese on cheese enchiladas were lukewarm and the cheese was not fully melted. My boyfriends Chile relleno wasn't deseeded properly.Prior to this experience, we had ordered to-go 2 times (hoping to give them more chances to remedy the problem) and the first time the Styrofoam melted into our enchiladas because they were so hot going into the container. The second time we ordered, I specifically asked whoever took my order to let the kitchen know to either put down foil in the box, or wait until it wasn't screaming hot. She said "Oh they do what they want but I'll ask." Needless to say, no foil in the box, Styrofoam melted into our food.I really hate leaving negative reviews on small businesses but you genuinely would be better served spending your money at another small Mexican restaurant in town. This one is the closest to us, hence the many chances, but we will be making the drive elsewhere from now on. Salsa is great though!
Food was delicious! I got the Jefe's Burrito. Man, was it big! That is my "go to" at Jefe's. Their michalada wasn't bad either.

First time eating here, waitress was phenomenal, the coconut Margareta was on point. Had the steak and chickens fajitas...WOW...then finished it off with fried apple with ice cream and caramel ?...by far my favorite Mexican food in
We LOVE the food here. Some of the best salsa in town and fantastic Tamales. El Chico used to be our go-to for consistent good mexican food, but since it closed, we discovered Jefe's. Can be a little slow sometimes, but only when they are packed during peak hours. The food is worth the wait!
