Ordered a Chicken fried steak sandwich last night with a side of cream gravy to go.. It was massive. I love their Regular CFS and wanted something smaller. Wow, what a treat, covered it in cream gravy and knife and forked it.. So good!I have eaten CFS at the best places in Texas.Goodson's is rated #1 by Texas Monthly.This CFS is way better.. The coating is the best. Not heavy. And great gravy that doesn't taste like it's from a mix. Highly recommend!

Decided to take my girlfriend out for a date night and thanks to these guys that didn’t happen. We’ve been here time and time again with no issues but I guess tonight was different. We came in and were seated right behind a couple in front of us with no issue in the middle of the restaurant. But what lost me was we sat at our table for 20 minutes with 6 waitresses and a waiter passing by us and glancing at us without any of them even stopping to ask us what we wanted to drink. I’d understand if the place was packed and we just got lost in the shuffle but there were many tables empty. The couple that was sat before us had their drinks, salad, and dinner within 15 minutes of being sat down. I guess they looked more important than us and the larger tables that were already trying to leave but still got service. So after the 20 minute mark passed with no drinks and watching one waitress lean on a counter 10 feet from us and didn’t bother to check up with us we decided to leave with one waitress finally deciding to talk to us as we were getting up. Decided to go to Jaydees in La Grange which is closer to home to begin with. They were busier, had more tables filled and had us seated with drinks within 5 minutes of walking through the door. Drove 30 minutes just to drive 30 back to go eat somewhere closer to home. Probably won’t be back considering there’s places closer to us that have better food and will actually serve us. Don’t come here unless you’re bringing a family of 6+ because that’s all they seem to care about.

My family and I drove 45 minutes to tis spot, walked in and promptly got seated. We looked through the menu and waitstaff never showed up to take out order. We then see parties of 2, 3 and 8 people get seated after us and all parties got their drink orders taken before us.We got up and walked right out.If you want to get seated quickly without a reservation then not get any assistance from the waitstaff, this is the spot.

My sister and I drove from Columbus Texas for lunch. It was my first time eating here.I love the restaurant. The decor was unique.My meal was delicious. There was enough to take home to eat. The iced tea was the best I have had around here. Plenty!!!! Of tea!!!Vegetarian options: I ordered a baked sweet potato. It was baked to perfection and so buttery delicious ♥️Parking: Lots of spots across from Murphy's and street parking on both sides of street.

We went for lunch at 12:45. There was still quite a few people there. Service was a bit slow, but the fried catfish platter was excellent.
