Went to Teriyaki Special for lunch after a co-worked had recommended it, and it was so good. They make everything fresh to order so expect a small wait for your food, but we'll worth it. You can tell their food is not frozen, and everything is made in house including the sauces, the chicken was so tender and deliscious, the fried rice and green beans were simple and flavorful, such a great little gem if you are looking for a yummy lunch or dinner at a great price, also the portions are generous, the restaurant is very clean and they had great service. Highly recommend!

2nd time here. Found this place by accident behind the Golden Chick in Wylie, and we decided to try it. Teriyaki chicken was fantastic both times. Also got the Green Beans and mixed vegetables. Nice and crunchy, very fresh and delicious. Fried Rice and Noodles were also very good. Got a side order of their chicken egg rolls and loved them. We will definitely be back again.

It's ok. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing? Got a pork combo with lo mein and mixed veggies. Veggies was mostly flavorless cabbage with two carrots and three broccoli pieces. The "Teriyaki" flavor is weak and tastes like soy sauce. Most of the pork is chewy and gristly. I was generous with the 4 star review because I believe this small restaurant deserves more traffic but honestly this was 2 or 3 star food in my humble opinion. The fried items are probably great, I didn't order an appetizer.

Steadfast Protection
Teriyaki Special is appropriately named. We have been coming here frequently since the summer of 2023 shortly after they opened. We were driving by and saw the sign and thankfully decided to try it. They never disappoint, I’m from Brooklyn New York wheee Asian food is super delicious and this place is reminiscent of the quality of food I’m am accustomed too. I just recently found out that the owner Oscar is a veteran and I am grateful for him. I pray that Teriyaki Special flourishes and prospers for many decades to come. I’ve been getting take out here for the past couple of months for lunch and i absolutely love it. I not only enjoy the food, portions, and drinks but also their customer service. I’ve never seen a teriyaki place with a drive thru so that’s also a plus. The employees are very sweet and patient whether you’re a new customer or a regular. Also love that their food is fresh and never differs in a negative way. Always a hit, never a miss :)
