We were SHOCKED when we saw our check. It was less than half of what we thought it would be for the quality and portions of food we got. Will definitely be returning.

Great date night, unique place to take guests and plenty of space yet private enough to have conversation or bring the whole family. The owner/ chef was knowledgeable, entertaining and friendly. The shelves had in season/ fresh produce. The sea bass and chicken dishes were amazing. It was beautiful presented. Very reasonably priced. We are already looking forward to going back. Also classes are taught there and you can buy sauces and spices.

Thyme & Seasons is a hidden gem! Chef Hai always remembers you and treats you like family. While is has a list of food items there is no menu. It is best to tell him your favorite and let him come up with the dish for you. We love to go as a family and have him create a platter for us.Next best tip is to buy a bag of his rice (we call it pink rice) on your way out!

Such a cool, unique dining experience I love that it’s in a little local shop and you can tell that the menu is super heartfelt with tons of passion and effort put into it. It was delicious.

Ate here last year with my family. We were driving around the neighborhood and like to support local businesses when possible and we love different ethnic cuisines. Saw the reviews and thought it was worth a shot. Upon walking in, the restaurant has more of a deli-market feel but we didn't think much of that. My wife ordered the Pho which they prominently advertise with a neon sign on the front of the restaurant (it is also one of our favorite soups). It was bland and we ended up adding some salt and pepper just to avoid sending it back. I asked the chef/owner for his recommendation and he quickly suggested the Chilean Sea Bass with beet risotto. The fish was overcooked and charred black on one side and slathered in some sort of mix of cream and spice sauce in a clear attempt to cover the lack of quality of the fish. The risotto was clearly reheated and days old. My daughter just wanted a simple Mac and cheese which he assured us was like no other that she had had and that was true. The sauce contained the same "proprietary" spice blend as the Sea Bass dish and needless to say my daughter took one bite of the undercooked "Mac & Cheese" just to be polite. At the end the chef/owner offered us some of his house baked chocolate muffins. Nice guy but we ended up with a $75 bill for one of the worst meals we've ever had. Maybe it was an off day?

Very amazing food! Seabass was amazing and so was the steak! I cannot wait to come here again! The owner was so kind and had some very beautiful artwork and other things to look at as we waited for food. Definitely telling people about this place!

The food was good but the price was ridiculous. They charged me $180 for 2 people before taxes and tips. I ordered lamb. For $180 dollars you eat in a better place with a better atmosphere and better service. Before you order make sure check the price or you will get over charge. I don’t recommend this place, there are a lot of better places out there and you will pay less.

Don't go here if you have issues with heartburn/food textures. The staff seemed very nice, but the head chef/owner was not.The first and only time I went here, I went with my parents, with no former knowledge on what the restaurant had besides fish.I asked the chef/owner if I could get my fish without his seasoning (which he puts on every dish and promotes constantly), because at the time I was having intense heartburn problems. It was stress-induced heartburn, and it was so bad that anything entering my stomach was enough to trigger it; so much as taking a pill made it act up. So needless to say I didn't want a spice rub on my fish, as it would no doubt leave me miserable the rest of the night. At first, when I asked, he started going on about how it wasn't that spicy, and he seemed so insulted by the request that I tried to explain my heartburn problem. He said he had heartburn too and didn't have any issues with the fish, and insisted the fish would be incredibly bland if it didn't have his rub on it (which I didn't care about- at that point I just wanted something that wouldn't make me suffer).I had bad social anxiety at the time, and was so uncomfortable from this whole thing that I just agreed when he suggested a light coat of the rub.The rest of the night was very uncomfortable. At one point he started mocking me and saying I should become Amish if I want my food so bland. To ask me if he had put enough of the rub on it, he came to my table, dangling the raw piece of fish in his hand, and put it close to my face, asking if it looked too seasoned for me.I was so uncomfortable that as soon as I finished eating I waited in the car for my parents to finish. He wasn't remotely understanding and made me feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. His food has very little substance outside of his spice rub, and if you have any sort of food problems that might require accommodation, do not go here.

This was a very, very interesting experience. If you want to know what it's like to go to an asian market, where the food is superbly fresh, but there is nothing pretty to look at, this is the place for you. The chef is extraordinarily extroverted, which was nice, though maybe a little too much a few times. I must say that he is very genuinely a good person and an excellent chef. He will serve you an incredible meal and educate you about it as well. Very interesting! Very stimulating! It's truly unique!

We had a family dinner here tonight. We were 6 people. We all drank water. The chef sent over soup (that no one liked) and salad (that no one ate - I tried to nibble, but it was bleh) and not a single one of us ordered any of it. TRULY. We ordered our mains and they took a long time to come out. The restaurant looked dirty and crowded - not with people, but with supplies / sundries / wares - very strange. No one ever checked in on us. It felt like we were in a glorified fast food restaurant. I didn't like my meal, at all. I think I took 3 bites? Some of our group seemed to like theirs; especially the two who had ordered the salmon. My husband was not happy with the meal; albeit he liked the portions. That being said, when the check came: HOLY F&&K!!!!!!! We live in LA and I know how expensive good food and good service is. It averaged about $60 p person with tax and tip (and the service was non-existent). I could go to Spago or Mastro's and spend the same amount (or less!!!) and have a nice meal and a glass of wine. NOPE!

This is quite literally THEE best meal I've EVER had. You walk in and it looks like a market and "this is the closest thing to a menu" with food choices is written on the wall. The owner is the best!!!! Quite the character. He will ask you what you want and then go prepare magic. It felt like I'd discovered a hidden gem but maybe loads of people know about this place. It's my new favorite!
