This place has an awesome atmosphere that feels very Asian. They have both Japanese and Korean food here, which is awesome. I had the beef udon. It was a delicious hot soup with a warm hearty broth. The noodles in it were thick and soft, just how I like it. They gave me a massive bowl that was piping hot. Honestly, the portion size was amazing for the price! The soup was really good, but I feel it could use a bit more flavor and meat! The service was pretty good, and it didn't take too long to get our food.

Possibly the most Japanese experience of any establishment in the Salt lake valley area. They now serve Korean BBQ. Lunch specials are a great price under $10usd. Sushi, sashimi, ramen, udon, miso soup, karaage chicken, tempura. All the good stuff. They even offered the famous Japanese desert Mont Blanc. Nori was ok but not top shelf. Rice was medium quality but please keep in mind I was recently in Japan for a couple of months. For Utah this restaurant is a top five.

Beautiful traditional Japanese atmosphere with food that will keep you con I ng back to try the whole menu.I don't know how I let this gem slip through fingers having lived nearby forever, but since we went we've been back weekly. The pork cutlet bowl with the egg and caramelized onions over rice is both comforting and savory. The fried chicken in garlic spicy sauce is cruncy, juicy, and delectable.Beat Takoyaki in UtahTheir sushi is great tooSeriously, this place is great for date night, girls night, or a birthday.Nobody leaves hungry

Delicious, authentic flavored and seasoned food. Really hits the spot when wanting to be transported back to Japan.
"My experience at Yamato restaurant on Valentine's Day was underwhelming. Despite the bustling crowd, the food left much to be desired, with only one highlight being a tasty juice. While the atmosphere may have been romantic and the restaurant popular among diners, the lackluster quality of the food was disappointing. However, it's possible that other menu items may appeal to different tastes, but based on my experience, I was left wanting more in terms of culinary satisfaction."

This is one of the best Japanese restaurants that my fiancé and I love to go to often! The food is always awesome! The atmosphere and decor are so cool. We almost always have great service! My fiance loves the oasam bulgogi. Which has squid, napa cabbage, pork belly, and a few other veggies. It's very spicy! But he loves it! I always go for some of the fried sushi rolls, and the gyoza is the best that I have ever had. ?

This is an excellent Japanese restaurant. We had dinner which was excellent. The service was fast and polite. It was very clean inside and the presentation of the food was great along with the flavor. We will definitely go back if in Utah.

Delicious and affordable! We had yakisoba noodles, miso, nigiri and gyoza. Again, both very delicious and very affordable.
Absolutely hands down the worst restaurant experience I have ever had. It took approximately 45 minutes to be seated, they did not have enough seats to hold everybody waiting in the lobby. The menu was unclear and I ordered a combo platter of sashimi which I assumed would come as rice rolls, it was just 8 pieces of sliced fish with spinach leaves, the waiter was friendly but the manager (I assume) was frantically pacing around the building with a concerned look on his face moving from table to table. The waitress told me I could grab a drink from the fridge and they would add it to my check, I did this and the same flustered (manager?) rushed over to me and without saying a word gave me very disgruntled, almost angry glances for about 1 minute and acted like I was stealing or something. It was one of the most genuinely terrible, weird, and confusing experiences I have ever had. Oh and, it was $26 for the drink, 8 small filets of fish, and a tiny bowl of rice.

They are desperately working for a tip. They rudely ask “NO TIP?!” If they weren’t given any tip due to food safety issues (like fingers in a cup or a sauce). They walk around with TIP TIP TIP TIP in mind. Raise your workers’ salary! It’s ridiculous how servers and hosts rely on tips nowadays! NO, I don’t have to give you a tip! Remember that!
