I keep going back to Oasis because of the beautiful restaurant hoping my opinion will change, but I feel like it hasn't gotten any better. I ordered the tuna sandwich thinking it would be similar to an Ahi cut but when it came out, it looked like a thick piece of seared cod. It's meant to be raw in the middle but you can imagine what a raw, seared cod looks like. It looked nothing like Tuna and was not appetizing. The slaw was very bland as well. I think there are only a few select items that are good on the menu. The waitresses were great, however! I just feel like the food could be better.

Every time we eat here I am pleased with my meal. But what I really like is the range of offerings, we have vegan friends and there are plenty of vegan options. You can have traditional breakfast items or salad or sandwiches; I really like that picky eaters (me) can be happy there. It's popular so reservations are a must. Yo can eat outdoors in an inner atrium or on the west side of the restaurant. Service is usually fine and if you have to wait The Golden Braid (a bookstore) is adjacent. Parking can be problematic and there are stairs but still it's my favorite breakfast option in Salt Lake City.

Came here for lunch after visiting the Natural History Museum. Nice atmosphere, especially the outdoors area, which is shaded and decorated with plants. The food was average. Reasonably priced lunch-sized portions. The eggs benedict Florentine was a bit bland, including the potatoes, but the potatoes were not at all greasy which was great. The steak sandwich was also medium. I liked the salad that came with it because it had cranberries, grapes, and pecans.

Great coffee, yummy food! It's a bit underwhelming in my opinion, it is a typical brunch place with a gift shop bookstore right next door. I enjoyed my latte and my omelette was pretty good and a good size!

Great server CoJay! The halibut had a few bones. I liked the lavender panna cotta and the Bloody Mary mocktail

Such a fun patio! Such bland, bland food! (at least for dinner)I had high hopes for Cafe Oasis, reading about it as a long-time local favorite spot. Sadly, the four dishes we tried for dinner were not great. Let's start with the good and work down:The Great: ambiance and patio! Really fun place - I imagine brunch and lunch are where it's at. I'd probably come back to try those since the vibe is so great and breakfast food is more forgiving. The Good: nice servers and staff! The OK: The complimentary bread - basic country white. The Paprika Chicken - pretty basic, but decent. The Udon Peanut Stir-Fry - peanut sauce is always gonna taste good, but there was little complexity here. The Bad: The halibut - this was a $30 plate. One of the blandest meals I've ever tasted - it supposedly had a lemon caper sauce, but I could only detect some mild salt taste-wise. This was so, so bland and really disappointing. The risotto - we had two different risottos as sides on dishes, neither of which had the familiar risotto creamy texture. But the biggest miss was the Filet Medallions - a $28 plate. Our dining companion ordered these medium - and they came out well-done, so we asked our server if we could get a correction. When the plate came back, one of the medallions was again cooked well-done, the other was medium-well. Sigh.Overall, and it pains me to say this, one of the worst meals I've had at this price point in SLC. But, they have that great patio...

When I first moved back to Utah in 2019, I moved to Downtown Salt Lake City. I am punching the air right now over the fact that it took me over three years to finally visit Oasis Cafe and it was only because my friend recommended we meet there for dinner. Don't be like me--go to Oasis right now. The ambiance in Oasis is beautiful. They are located inside the cutest cafe with a bookstore located right next door. There is plenty of seating but I also appreciate how spaced out the seating is from each other. I thought I knew what I wanted because I always check the menu before I visit places. However, the server explained that there was a special going on and I opted for that instead. For the special, I got a Caesar salad to start. It was absolutely delicious and I loved every single bite of it. I also ordered a margarita but I regret to say that it was not very good. Recently, someone said that margaritas are always a hit or miss and I think she is correct. This one was a miss because it was so bitter and hurt every organ in my body because of how strong the lime was. I put like 4 sugar packets in it to be able to tolerate it but it was not my favorite. The steak was amazing and I really liked all the veggies that came on it. The dessert was amazing. The chocolate cake was to die for and the drizzle on the top was a perfect grand finale to my meal.I am so happy to have found Oasis and I hope to be back again soon. They seem like an amazing place to go in the summer and I hope to check out the bookstore next to it.

I've been to Oasis Cafe so so many times over the years. It used to be a staple when I lived nearby. It's a beautiful building with lots of windows and a sweet courtyard attached to a hippie dippy bookstore I love. The food here is typically great. In my younger days when I could eat whatever I wanted, I would get the blueberry German pancake. This time I chose an omelet with potatoes. My partner had a gluten free version of a Benedict with a special tomato sauce and gf bread for the base. The Benny was great! I always wish restaurants would actually spring for decent gluten free bread options, but I'm honestly just glad to be able to eat. My omelet was ok. It was pretty overcooked too the point of being stiff. Service was slow and not particularly friendly on this visit Typically I receive much more friendly service here. So maybe just an off day. I wouldn't let it dissuade you. Come for the pancake, sit in the courtyard, explore the bookstore.

Really yummy food, great menu and sweet, outdoor patio. The ambience was lovely, the staff eager to please did I mention the food was delicious! We definitely recommend this spot. I had the eggs Benedict extra hollandaise sauce, and would definitely order again. Had a crew of eight of us and the drinks west great too!

We came at 8.30pm for dinner. Not many customers and waiters were preparing to close. We ordered halibut fish, eggplant risotto and panacotta as our dessert. Halibut fish was a bit salty while eggplant risotto was blant. Panna cotta is yummy, thick and right sweetness level. I would say that it is pricey for the quality of food although the food is presented nicely.

I searched for restaurants near my hotel on the Yelp app and Oasis Café came up. Once I saw the photos of the smoked salmon, my decision was made. The Uber driver that dropped me off said Oasis is one of her favorite places so I was excited to try it out. When I walked in, I wasn't sure if it was counter or full service. A lady who was in front of me was helped, and then I stood there for a minute, before asking an employee what the set up was. She explained that it is full service and said she would get me seated. She ended up being my server (Misty) and she was nice. I ordered the Salmon Lox Crostini and it did not disappoint! It had a nice contrast of textures and flavors. The capers were yummy. I loved the crunchiness of the baguette crisps and the creaminess of the Boursin cheese. The smoked salmon with the onion, tomato, and greens were just delicious! It had a nice balance of salty and savory. I could have easily eaten two plates, but I refrained.I considered getting a bakery item to go, but Misty brought out the check without asking me if I wanted anything else, so I didn't bother. It's starting to become a pet peeve for me when a server just brings out the check and doesn't ask if I would like anything else. It can feel like you're being rushed and it's a missed opportunity for an up-sale. Despite that, the service was good and the food was great!

Love Oasis. Always delightful. My server, Jim was kind and attentive. The coffee as always was tasty and hot!My go to breakfast/brunch is the huevos rancheros with salmon chorizo, which never disappoints, and the coffee cake for the table. Lunch I go for the salmon. Everything is great tho. Today I ordered the daily frittata (garden) and a side of potatoes. The frittata was veggie heavy which I love. The potatoes were yummy but needed salt (I easily took care of that). Lots of food so now I have a second meal-- hooray! It took all my willpower to not order the coffee cake bc it's so scrumptious, but only bc I came alone with no one to share with . Highly recommend.

Fresh, creative menu with many gluten free options. They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Our travel schedule kept us from trying breakfast this trip, but I look forward to a future opportunity.
